i'm right ther with you. i'll be 44 this summer. just completed the cpne last month. waiting to take state boards. hoping excelsior college will get off their duff and get the paperwork done. but know exactly what you mean about all the "kids" in class. they complain about not having enough time to party!!!

Specializes in Telemetry, Home Health, Geriatrics.

Hi Guys,

I'll graduate in May, 2 weeks shy of my 39th birthday!:yelclap:

52 here and graduate in 2010, (God willing). FINALLY found out what I want to be when I grow up!

I'm 37 and will be 38 when I graduate. We have a wide age range in my class. Some of my classmates are in their 50's. It's tough but we are all enjoying it.

I am 45 and will graduate with my RN in May! YAH!!! I am one of the oldest in my class that is still there. Trust me, I am shocked that I am still in the program and have come this far when so many have failed out. I think age is just a number and it doesnt bother me at all. I get along well with my other classmates, and they have never treated me any different. When you are in nursing school, you are all in the same boat, no matter the age.

I am in my second semester and I am 38!!! :yeah:

There are a few people older than me in my class. The youngest just graduated from high school in June '08!!

I've been a nurse for 10 mths now.I'm 57 and wondered some days what have I done but I did it by the grace of GOD.

Specializes in Psychiatry & Geriatrics.

38y.o and counting! Will graduate in 8weeks! Hat's off to all for going back to school! YOU'RE AMAZING!! GOOD LUCK! :yeah:

I'm 52 and I just got my acceptance into nursing school. I'll be 54 when I graduate, and I am really excited about this career change! I enjoy working with people of all ages, and I think it's good for all of us to see that learning is lifelong. My classmates in my pre-req classes were all so encouraging, and age really didn't seem to matter. I got to be "second mom" to some of them, and they got to encourage me.

I graduated with an LPN at 48 and have begun a BSN program at 50! You are never too old to learn new things.

I'm 1st semester getting and ADN. Glad the semester is 1/2 over!

I'm just shy of 40.
