Did you go to school in South Carolina???!!! Sounds to me like my story. I had an instructor who dismissed me out of hand for what she "felt" was a mistake. I was devastated for a while, but got right back up and completed the program thru Excelsior College in less time than it would have taken had I finished the other way. If you know in your heart that nursing is for you, don't ever let someone take it away from you. Find another program somewhere else. Unfortunately, some instructors have been out of the clinical setting for so long they really don't know the way things are done, or they have such an ego that they forget that they have people's dreams in their hands. Keep fighting if this is what you want.

So glad to hear from someone else from SC. I totally agree with you! Common decency has been left out of the school's curriculum. It is up to the parents of these inconsiderate morons to teach them some type of decent behavior. That was one reason I left the traditional classroom for Excelsior college. I could not deal with some of the behavior. I am not one to hold my tongue.

sure was!!! i don't think i would have done as well without these 2 sites. everyone has offered excellent advice and support. to all of you still trying, stay current with this site and if you are an ec student, then by all means follow the epn chats.

Mine turned gray and I passed. I don't think it matters, just keep your head up until you know for sure.:redpinkhe

I live in SC. I just got my results from the NCLEX Saturday the 25th, interviewed today for a job on a post-surgical floor, and accepted the position, start Monday!!!! I'm lovin life right now

I got that award also. You don't actually get the money. You can use it toward CPNE, practice tests or the like. If you don't choose to continue with EC, they keep it. It came in handy with practice tests

you can add my name to the list of ec grads that made it. got my results yesterday (saturday) and i passed the nclex, first time with 75 questions!!!!!!! i can't believe i made it thru the tunnel. thought for a long time that it would never happen. so excited to start my new career. wish everyone still trying much luck. j buford, rn:yeah:

i took mine this morning.. shut off at 75. don't feel real good about it, but it is out of my hands now. i started at 8:00, finished by 9:05. hope to get results tomorrow (we have quick results). hope to have good news.:idea:

we call that the wads (weak and dizzy syndrome) we also use gtfo for "get the f&*$ out". or how about spotas, "i spota be at work tomorrow, can i get an excuse?":lol2:

lunah is correct again as ususal.:redpinkhe i was going to suggest the epn network from the excelsior site, i got distracted by the quibbling between two of the other posters. i got very detailed info from the the cpne journal site. you learn what to do and what not to do. i did study at home with various study material, but i learned more from these types of posts. here and ec. i passed cpne the first time because of these things. i take the nclex tomorrow, and am right here reading more posts to get some insight. there is a ton of info around, just use descretion and make sure that it is reputable. ec has theie own way of doing things, and if it is not their way..........

I test the 23rd also. A little scared, but can't wait to get this chapter behind me. I test in Augusta, GA. Its about 2 hrs from home, but they had the earliest slot available. Good luck to you..

i can't believe it!!!!! i got my att today.... and graduated today to boot!! i didn't think i would be able to test until next month due to a snafu with some paperwork and the bon. i am soooooo excited. i immediately went to pearson's site and scheduled my test for next week!! i test on the 23rd. i have been studying since i finished cpne in feb. i feel prepared, but very scared. i know me; if i fail it will be very hard to to make myself so it again. but... i will not fail....:dncgbby:

i'm right there with you. i also graduate on the 17th. currently work as a nurse tech in an er. will be going into a new graduate nurse internship in june. thought i would expose myself to other areas of the hospital to see if i find something better than the er. getting excited, but still waiting for my att.

I work as a nurse tech (for now, waiting to take NCLEX). Part of my job is to do the hourly rounding on all rooms in the ER. I ask each room if they need anything, blanket, drink or if they need something from their nurse. This works pretty well, and it frees up the nurses. Granted we are a small ER only 15 rooms, but it seems to make the pt's happy, and helps a great deal with Press Gainey scores.
