almost my entire village is engulfed in water, i was lucky and live on a hill and am dry, but the rest of my town suffered terribly last monday when it was the wettest day of all time! i know many part of the Uk are in a similar situation, i was called into work to help out with the casualties and we arer put on RED ALERT and took patients from nearby flooded areas, i myself got stuck in my car with my 18 month old son adn was told to abbandon my car ( i had lots of shopping in the boot) and no pushchair) nightmare! anyone else have any stories relating to this? let me know x

Wow, what a nightmare! We haven't heard much about this here, just the floods in Texas.

Sorry to hear you got caught in the floods. For once we aren't affected, but I travel an 80 mile round trip to work each day on the M6 and M61 and the flooding and rain make it a very unpleasant journey.
My thoughts are with you...

I have been watching the stories of the floods on the internet as it hasn't really been mentioned over here in the US. I can't believe how severe the flooding has been and how much rain you guys have had this summer. I am heading over for 3 weeks next week and am expecting to get wet!
My thoughts are with any of you who have been flooded both in the uk and in the US, where there has also been terrible flooding. I can't imagine how devastating it must be.

Other than the disruption to Wimbledon, London has been fine so far. Have been watching the terrible mess further north though. I hope people are ale to get themselves sorted soon. I couldn't begin to imagine what it would be like to have to try & clear up & get my life back together!
