Just wondering if anyone here is trying for a spot at Dekalb Tech this fall?
We are supposed to hear whether or not we are accepted by May 28th....so nervous!
HisBeloved,Its not the Boards that I'm worried about. It's the clinical site. They are toughter than the Boards. I was told the background has to be "squeaky clean" a direct quote from the program director. She said they don't care what is on the background. I was told that I cannot get the "driving with no license on person" charge expunged, so therefore I will continue to have a criminal record. I just can't believe the clinical sites are that tought that even a minor traffic charge would keep you out or fromn progressing.
So thanks, but no I'm not worried at all about the Boards, it's the actual clinical sites for which I would need to be allowed into in order to pass the class. No clinicals, no program. I've tried to find out other informatton, but this is just so depressing.
oh ok, yeah it is a bit much to stop someone because of a traffic ticket. I mean is there a way to talk to people from clinical site ahead of time? Did you withdraw already? I wish you the best! God bless

No I havent withdrawn. I'm currenty trying to find out about the clinical sites so that I can go ahead and see what could be done. I spoke to the Director and her exact words to me were, "just give me your spot, someone else can have that spot because your backgound has to be squeaky clean". Very disheartening to me. It seems as though the questions should ask if you have any felonies and misdemeanors othe than minor traffic infractions, but she is acting as if you cant have ANYTHING. I'm all for the law and consequences for your own actions, I get all of that, however, having no license on person really should not be one's deal breaker when it comes to self improvement.
So short answer, no I havent withdrawn, or taken the background check. What's so crazy is that the background checks are done 8 weeks into the semester, as clinicals will begin 9 weeks into the semester. This is after tuition is paid and books and supplies are purchased.
Sorry about the delay...I haven't been getting alerts then I couldn't remember the login info.
but yeah, feel free to email me with questions:
Thanks for the quick response, shemekaj!!!!!!
I contact the school but had very little success... they just told me that i should go to their info session. It's sort of difficult to go to an info session because i'm currently in hawaii however i was trying to get some info about the program because we will be transferring to atlanta and i'm considering bauder. My questions to you is the admission process, pre-reqs, length of program, how is the program thus far?
Again, thanks shemekaj!!!!!!! Hope to hear from you soon!!!!!!
I am in the RN nursing program at Bauder College. I think all of the programs are "hard" but feel there are large differences in the support system that you get from your teachers in each program which is very important to me. My experience at DT was not what I expected and am glad to be in a program that better suits my needs. Hopefully, with the change over from quaters to semesters at DT it has given them an opportunity to evaluate the program and process for applying. I wish you all the best in the program.
Shemeka i wanted to send you a message but i don't htink i can. How do you like Bauder? I'm going to a information soon to hear some information on it. Hows the classes, schedule? is it the normal pre-reqs needed? thanks!
