  1. I wouldn't change the date! I was scared to make my appt for the test and as the date came closer I thought about rescheduling but I finally decided no matter what I was going that day. If you are like me, you won't ever feel ready for this test and the longer you wait the worse off you will be. My advice is to take it now! You sound prepared. I didn't even study. I read over a few diseases the night before and looked at lab values before going into the building for the test. Good luck.
  2. Most of my class ended up with 85 questions...one had 88 and another had 90. But one classmate had 205 questions....we all passed. If you go all the way to 205, it just depends on the complexity of the question and if you get it correct. I have read even if you get it right, you can still fail if it is below competency. But you have a great shot of passing because the computer let you keep going. Try the 'trick'...you will have your answer then. Good luck. :)
  3. I felt that my instructors worked the whole program preparing us for the nclex. Our tests were HARD and set up like the nclex. My school has a 100% nclex pass rate and we all took the nclex immediately after graduation. (give or take a week or 2 due to scheduling availability). We didn't have all these review classes and study guides that I have read so much about on this site. I was really nervous about taking my test because I didn't do all that stuff but it turned out that school itself prepared me enough to pass the nclex-pn with the minimum of 85 questions. School was tough but in the end it was worth it. I thought the nclex was way easier than I had imagined. Good luck. :)
  4. Why did you delete your original response...the one one where you said that LPNs work for pennies? Yeah- I got the notification in my email. They don't work for pennies. Trust me. How rude. You asked why students go into the LPN program and I told you some reasons....sorry if you didn't like the answer. Good grief and good luck in the world of nursing with that attitude.
  5. There are plenty of LPN jobs where I live...including hospitals. I wanted to be a nurse not a CNA. There is a big salary difference too and the scope of practice is NOT the same. Becoming a LPN was the quickest way to be a nurse and start working and I also plan on bridging over to RN.
  6. My school used ATI too. For me, ATI was the only study material I needed. Maybe reading the med-surg ATI book and the fundamentals ATI book again would be helpful...I felt that ATI prepared me for the NCLEX, Good luck! You can do it. Where there is a will there is a way. :)
  7. I took and passed the nclex-pn on 9/16/11. I didn't really study for the test but we used ATI all throughout the program. I think ATI is the best to study from...or it seemed so for me. ATI really prepared me for the test. Good luck next time.
  8. I was TERRIFIED to take the NCLEX-PN but I scheduled it right off the bat after graduation and vowed not to change/cancel the appt. I worried all the way up to test time. I didn't do really any studying besides going trough my ATI books and looking at common disorders. I passed NCLEX-PN first try with 85 questions and was relieved that the test wasn't nearly as hard as I dreamed it to be. You got through the program, you can pass the test. :)
  9. :ancong!: From what I have read on this site, you passed!
  10. agreed. my school so far has a 100% pass rate for the nclex. :) we didn't take extra courses or do all these test bank questions or anything. i never knew anything about those things til i was on this site. i wasted some money on a couple of nclex prep books. i never had the attention span to study from them. most of my class took the nclex at the first available appts. the nclex was so much easier than i had imagined. i wish i wouldn't have stressed so much over taking the test.
  11. Oh no...try again.
  12. Yep- NCLEX-PN has a minimum of 85 questions and a maximum of 205. PVT trick works! :)
  13. You have to be registered with them to do the pvt trick. PVT worked for me too. :)
