Anybody go to Keiser?

Just wondering if anybody went to or is going to Keiser University's nursing program?

TEAS is def not free anywhere. At Keiser it's $50 the first time and any section failed can be retaken up to 3 times (maybe just twice) for $25 each. I take the TEAS in 3 1/2 weeks then once I pass I meet with the nursing committee for approval, once accepted, I can start my pre reqs in Aug 27/12 which by March I should have ready and then wait at the latest for nursing portion to start Aug 2013, but if spots open earlier I could start as soon as May 2013. Right now my main focus is the TEAS. Studying like a maniac!

:w00t:I just took and passed the TEAS for the first time and I didn't even study that much .. procrastinated a lot .. science was hard, and I couldn't even answer half the questions, so I simply guessed many of them and got lucky. I thought I was going to get like 30 in science. I swear I didn't even know the answer for half the questions from the science section .. for some reason luck was on my side today.

The only difficult part of the test is science. English is my second language, so the reading and English were the most difficult for me. I have always been good at math so that wasn't a problem. I didn't even study for it. All I studied, was science, reading and English .. everything I studied about science, wasn't even on the test and I studied with the ATI guide.

My scores:

Reading : 76.2

Math : 90

Science : 62.5

English : 73.3

I barely passed the reading section

Now I have to gather all the recommendation letters and resume before setting up a meeting with the nursing director.

At least one thing less to worry about

Mom2be which campus are you attending?

Also each keiser campus operates with slight differences. Teas can be free at one campus and not at another.

Congrats Orlando!!

I don't think it has ever been free, is just that you pay $250 and people think TEAS is free

when in reality, $200 are for admission and $50 for the test

West palm beach. They are so helpful. At least my advisor is. You can tell she loves her job

That's good that she loves her job. It is very important to feel they care about you more than just a commission especially when you're about to spend so much money on their school.

Yea definitey. She actually made me more excited about the process. She's being very helpful and doing what she can for me. I love it! ^_^

How did you like the Melbourne campus? I visited the campus a few months ago; and noticed that it was a small school. That can be a good thing, I guess. How was your process in getting accepted into the program? I'm still thinking about it because I live 15 minutes from the school, but the only thing is that the tuition is a factor. Also, did you take the teas exam? If so, how was it?

fort lauderdale campus

but I still need to take the microbiology, which in keiser, costs around $2000, and since is only just one class I won't be able to get any pellgrants .. no way I'm getting a loan for just one class .. I'm taking micro and lab at broward college in the fall, so is still a long way to go for me to even be on the keiser waitlist, but i don't mind waiting a few months. I'm unemployed right now with not much savings, and getting a loan for just one class, doesn't make sense to me .. at broward college I'm getting full grant in august, and even some refund. The advisor told me that as soon as my fall classes at broward college starts, I can continue with the process and have an interview with the nursing directors. They need to see that I'm taking the micro class, so I have to wait untill august before doing anything with keiser. I think the same thing happened to this girl nursingstudent12pk, she was taking some class and keiser marked it as taken or something like that.

my main problem is getting those letters of recommendation, I don't who to ask. I don't know many people who really remembers me lol I know one professor who really cared about me and I'm sure she will write me a letter, but I still need 2 more letters, and since I have been unemployed for so long, I can't even ask an employer or anything. I could try and ask some of my AP professors, but I never really talked much with them, and I'm not sure if they would want to write me a letter, they probably barely remember me. I read that some girl here wrote her own letter and put her friend's contact info lol but I don't know.
