Just wondering if anybody went to or is going to Keiser University's nursing program?
I just registered at Keiser in Jacksonville, Fl. Classes begin August 27 for the prerequisites for the nursing program... I take the TEAS July 25. Went to a critical care trade show with my brother to help with his booth, which gave me the courage to go for it. Anyone else starting at Keiser University in Jacksonville, Fl?
I haven't read all the comments, but how long is the actual program at Keiser.. without any gen ed courses taken yet? How much is the program? Where are the clinicals held? I have an phone 'appointment' Monday, but I'm wondering if I can get more information before.
I just registered at Keiser in Jacksonville this past week. Beginning to end its 25 months, first 9 months are the prerequisites. The clinicals are in the area hospitals. To take the TEAS it's $50, you have two tries on the $50, after that I believe it's $25 per try.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. It is impossible to do so from the iphone. Anyway, I visited the school a few years back and seemed OK. I was admitted to another program at another school so I did that for a year and now I'm an OB Scrub Tech but decided to go back for nursing because it is what I really want to do. I love what I do but I'm guilty of wnating more. I take the TEAS on the 21st and dreading the Math section. I have not been admitted to the program yet since the TEAS has to be done first and then the interview with the committe with letters of reccomendation and all that.
Dont stress the math.... I stressed the math... and it was the EASIEST section. study basic algebra (finding 'x', substitution, adding/subtracting large numbers, etc), word problems, and a few triangle questions.... not bad at all!
I paid the $250 and I'm guessing I'm keiser student now?
Where or when can I get my ID card? Do they give you a password to access the website?
When I paid the admission fees, I was given a paper that had a student # written on it.

You never know which teacher remembers you. I emailed a teacher that I hadn't seen for over 4 years and he remembered me and even remembered where I was from! A comment made on the first day of class! You can always ask a friend. I wouldn't rule out past employers either. You can also make friends with your micro prof and lab assistant. Have them write one for you after few weeks of class or something.
As far as waiting. As long as you start the process now will your future spot be saved?
