Im considering keiser as well ... i have read on their website that if u have your associate of arts and a 2.0 cummulative then you would be considered to have met all lower division general requirements ... what does this mean ? for the nursing program you have to complete :
Lifespan and development
Introduction to psychology
Introduction to computers
English composition 1 or english composition 2
American literature or English literature
Intermediate algebra
Human anatomy and Physiology
Microbiology
does this mean that if you already have an associate of arts, you only have to complete
That sounds about right. I only have 2 or 3 credits that will transfer, so I basically have to start from the beginning. I have met a lot of people that became RN's through Keiser. Don't forget about the TEAS. You have to have certain scores on each section before you can be enrolled. Also, there you have to get adr's release saying you can be around all the stuff you'll be around in nursing school, background and fingerprints, and a formal interview with the Dean of Nursing.
I would love to know if you decide to go with them.
on the website says :
Minimum grade of ―"C" for general education courses. Successful completion of BSC2085C, BSC2086C and MCB2000C are prerequisites for all major courses.
that means that if i have an associate of arts from a community college, then I only have to take BSC2085C, BSC2086C and MCB2000C .. which can be taken at Broward college for example
is TEAS the only test that one has to take at Keiser ?
I think it shouldnt be hard to get accepted the problem is the financial aid because is expensive

I just finished my last gen ed/pre req at Keiser Melbourne. Just waiting for my nursing core classes to start this August. I transferred in Int Algebra, Gen Psych, and Micro from BCC, and took the rest online. I've really enjoyed it so far, and everyone has been very helpful.

Hi! I am actually in the program right now (Lakeland)..as of Monday may 2, 2011 and so far I like it. We got right into the material on Tuesday since we spent all day monday on OSHA and CPR. Our Fundamentals instructor is great and we are getting a lot of practice in already (on each other) lol. But if you have any questions i'll be happy to assist you where I can.
How did you get financial aid ? pellgrants? loans? private loans? I know they work with sallie mae. I have read that some people have to pay $50 every month and others even more than that .. why is that ? are all your expenses (tuition and books) covered by financial aid, do u have to pay something out of your pocket ? do you have a job ? I know if you dont have a job you will receibve more money in the form of pellgrants
is teas the only test we have to take in order to be accepted ? that test doesnt seem very difficult im more concerned if financial will cover my tuition and books .. i know is around $7000 per semester .. i'm trying to get my associate of art and complete all the prereqs at broward college so i can pay less money at keiser .. sorry for all the questions

You take the WonderLic test as an initial exam. It only lasts 12 minutes, and there are 5 questions. You have to answeer at least 38 or them, and score above 20. Then there's the TEAS (scary dun dun dunn music).
you mean 50 questions
about the teas .. how much do u have to get in each section in order to be accepted in the nursing program ?
I am not sure how mny you need to get right, but I know you have to have these scores to get into Keise:
Reading - 76
Math - 75
Science - 56
English - 76
In the prep book it tells you how long ech section it, but from wht Ihve read, it doesn not tell you how much time you have left.

I am also curious about Kaiser. I am wondering what kind of reputation the school has. I am looking for the best education that a 40 year old mother of 2 can get!
Google them. I have read a lot about them, about 85% is raving, and the othe 15% from unhappy folks.
