Any UCSF Mepn Applicants?

Published

Hi everyone--

Has anyone else out there applied to the UCSF MEPN program? They're supposed to send out letters this month (December) for the interview process. Has anyone gotten a letter yet? Will those that aren't asked to the interview process get a rejection letter now?

Crossing my fingers...!

:chuckle lol

I was wondering if that'd get a reaction outta ya! ;)

Hello

Its been so quiet in here....everyone studying for A&P finals or something?

I suppose that nobody heard anything today

So, anyway, my house is literally one of the last in town to get mail...usually around 5:45PM. If someone gets their mail earlier in the day and gets their letter...will you post on here, so I pay the appropriate homage to the mailbox deities before opening it up?

Just FYI... I looked back at threads from the past two years to get an idea of when people started getting their interview letters.

In 2005, the first post about hearing anything was on Dec. 16th. In 2006, the first post was on Dec. 19th. So it looks like we have about one more week to go.

They sure cut it close to the holidays - bah humbug! :nono:

seriously! it makes it hard for anyone who has a long way to travel... I can just *feel* the flight prices going up with each passing day... oh well, there is absolutely nothing we can do but wait. :)

just fyi... i looked back at threads from the past two years to get an idea of when people started getting their interview letters.

I wish! I'm almost there though. You're right - getting ready for the holidays is at least a good distraction from the anxiety. That and a Pathophysiology final exam on Thursday. :)

I do have good news - I found out today that I got into the University of Portland's alternate-entry Master's program. So that helps me relax a little. And hopefully it's a good omen for us all...

Congratulations on your acceptance!!! I'm sure that must be a good feeling! I hope you're right about the omen thing ;)

Yeah, I noticed that too. I'm waiting until the beginning of next week to event think that a letter will be coming. Then I've empowered my neighbor (who's an undergrad and on break) to check my mailbox when the mail comes (around 11:00) and then she'll call me at work for fat envelopes. I'm trying not to get too anxious, but it would be nice to know soon. :)

I'm definitely really glad that I can preoccupy myself with finals and christmas shopping. I'm trying to not get all worked up over interviews.

Btw...congrats on your acceptance, teenyjo!:balloons:

Ahhh... I wish I had finals! or anything to do as a distraction! My job has gotten so boring that I'm planning on changing back to my old job... but for the time being I literally have NOTHING to do for the next seven hours...

and my boyfriend wonders why i'm all stressed out about not hearing anything from anywhere yet! :)

good for you, teenyjo! you know for sure that you've got somewhere to go and that must be a huge relief! :lol2:

okay, now i've gone back and read all the posts from last year, and it has given me mixed feelings -- it sounds like the number of awesome people who didn't get interviews was significant, which makes me sad, (because I do want an interview!), but at least i know that if i don't get one, I'm in good company.

I know exactly what you mean, fibergirl. At least we know not to take it personally if that interview invitation doesn't come. :) There are some amazing people on this board who got turned away (sometimes more than once).
