Hello everyone.

I'm just curious. Is anybody among you here has experience? I mean have anyone of you ever worked in a hospital or something?

This is a very informative thread. An agency in Australia promised that they can provide straight registration in QNC bypassing all that assessment.

Thanks.

hi there miztahcool! I for one do NOT have any hospital experience whatsoever post registration. So like the other people who have no experience, I chose to take the QNC-CAS route. I know that it is possible to bypass QNC's challenge exam if one has sufficient experience. I think that route is through skilled migration. But unfortunately, I do not have experience so I cannot got hrough that route. Do you? If you have then maybe it's possible for you to go through skilled migration.

Yes I agree that this thread is very informative. But there's another thread, wait till you see that: Newly grad nurse wanting to work in Australia. It has tons of information. But I suggest before posting anything take the time (it's bout 240+ pages already hehehe) to backread. But I promise you it's worth it.

Thank you very much chocokat79 for your timely response.

I have almost 9 years of experience in an acute hospital setting. I lodged my application to the ANMC about five months ago. The results of the assessment are almost the same thing for all of us if you have come from the Philippines whether or not you have experience. They still require the bridging program.

I've been reading almost all the threads posted here relating to Australia and it's really very interesting. The above-mentioned thread was worth it, you were right. I do not believe that the agency I mentioned can deliver that promise because, as I've heard, Australian Healthcare System is very much different from ours whether you come from the US, UK, or Canada.

So, good luck and God speed.

Hi buddy_nurse!! Any update on your job hunting? What agency did you ask for help? God bless us all!!

Hi fellow nurses. Just want to share some good news. I got hired by an aged care facility in NSW. Applying for the license was easy, it took one day since I have the queensland license. The 457 visa took 5 weeks to process and will be flying to OZ later this month. I pray all of you going through this route will also make it. As to the agency that assisted me, it can be found on the first page if you google "australia nursing agency" :D

BTW, I've heard rumors that CQU-CAS will cease accepting applications by 2010. I cannot verify the accuracy of this information but for those who are serious about going through this route to gain licensure, it would be advisable to hurry up with the process.

congrats buddy nurse!

wow. a registered nurse in 2 states.

so it's easier to get a job in nsw than in queensland?

and aren't there any special reqt's to gain registration in nsw?

did the agency process nsw registration for you?

thanks in advance

Hi there buddy nurse, congratulations!

As for that bit of news, yes I heard it too. A consultancy firm that I had contemplated on signing-up with a while ago texted me that the CAS program will end sometime this November 2009 so for those of you who are still in the process of completing your requirements better hurry up! No time to loose fellow nurses! :typing

I pray for all our application to be assessed favorably... Good luck and God bless us all! :yeah:

Congratulations carminaRN for completing part A and good luck with part B clinical placement. I still don't have permission to post PM so I'll answer your questions here:

1. did you take CAS too? -yes

2. do you have working experience as nurse here in the phils? -yes, as of this month I have 11 months nursing experience

3. are you a second courser? -yes

4. was it hard to find an employer in queensland? -it was hard in a sense that not many employers would consider someone with my limited experience but there are those who do, it would be advisable to avail of nursing agencies, apply online and be flexible with the location anywhere in Australia (I finally found a sponsor in NSW)

5. how many days did it take you to receive your approved tourist visa? -2 weeks

To punjabi:

1. so it's easier to get a job in nsw than in queensland? - more opportunities due to larger population

2. aren't there any special reqt's to gain registration in nsw? - none if you are already licensed in another state

3. did the agency process nsw registration for you? - no, i did the processing myself. just filled out the form and attached a notarized copy of the queensland license

Congratulations buddy_nurse on finding an employer!! Did you just apply online for your license in NSW? WHen you mentioned nursing agency, you agencies in Aust? Do they require payment? Anybody here scheduled their PART A CAS in the next months?

You really need to contact the council and discuss with them. It may be that they require this regardless on when paperwork was submitted

hello silverdragon,

tnx for the responding to my question..sigh.huhuhu im so sad..i mean its ok with me to repeat IELTS if i have the money. as you can see, the main reason why i chose to take the CAS tru QNC was because my IETLS was satisfactory when i applied. if it hadn't been, then i wouldnt have signed up..im so sad right now.. :c
