BjorkRN, i haven't received my acknowledgement yet. how long should i wait for it? when did you mail your applications?
I mailed my docs last week of September and i got my acknowledgment around last week of August. I hope we will have favorable responses from QNC regarding our papers.

hi to all! I'm an avid fan of this forum and it has been very helpful in my QNC application. I got a letter from QNC today and i found out that i lack an evidence of recency of practice within the past 5 years so I need to address the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council's Competency Standard for the Registered Nurse. Still confused on what to do.. Anybody's on the same delimma as mine???
Hello dinoworld...you know we have the same problem but in my case, they said that I left Item 6 blank so they ask me again to submit a new application form with complete details. Actually, they emailed a scan document of Item 6. I forwarded immediately my application form with certificate of my hospital training because I was never employed in a hospital, just trainings and volunteer work. Did u tick the No box at Item 6?

Hi UR49, thanks for your reply. I was employed in a hospital before but that was 6 yrs ago, that is why i need to procure a document or letter stating that I am a competent nurse according to the ANMC competency standard. Don't know where and how to begin, so I'm hoping anybody out there who has been in this kind of situation.

I believe you are already being endorsed to the Competence Assessment Program which is CAS to check if you could meet ANMC's Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
You can try clarifying via email to QNC "Specific Enquiry: Overseas" as subject.
For those who took the CAS exams last December 9, can you tell your experience? is it hard?

Hi dreaminOz, i don't think that i'm already being endorsed for CAS since their is a certain part of the letter stating that my application has been assessed and requires further documentation.
I see. Maybe you can ask QNC via email specifically what documentation you are lacking. :nuke:
Yes...dreaminOZ is right, u can just email them..they will respond right away. In my case, they responded a day after I emailed them.

thanks UR49 and Dreaminoz, i already emailed them and i was told to submit an evidence that I am competent and fit to practice as a nurse. Therefore i need to ask for a recommendation letter or some sort from the previous hospital that I've worked with which includes all the details they needed (e.g. must indicate that you have demostrated nursing competence) I just hope everything will be in order soon. Have a blessed ang meaningful Christmas everyone!!! May God Bless us all!
It's Kye09 (aka Dinoworld) by the way, I created a new account because i forgot my password but now it has been retrieved so I'm back again! hehehe..
hi i'm just wondering would it make a difference if you got work experience when applying for registration? I reckon whether you've got experience or not one has to take CAS am i right? or is there any exemption?
