I am currently in school at EKU for my PMHNP. I am worried about finding a job locally (Louisville area) when school is done. The psychiatrists at my current place of employment tell me that there is plenty of work, however I do not see much of anything posted on job sites. I am freaking out a little bit now, especially with the amount of loans I owe!

I am not in KY but I do know PMHNP is in great demand throughout the US. Put feelers out and you're sure to find something. What do you think of the program at EKU? How rigorous is it to work and attend? I would love some feedback. Good luck to you!

When do you graduate? I know of a place around La Grange that are always looking for psych NP's
I still have a year and a half. I know where you are talking about. They have had quite a few positions posted recently. I would be more than interested when the time comes. I would also love to do clinicals there when I get to that point in my program.

Howdy...i just got accepted to EKU PMHNP program and I live in Las Vegas, NV. To be honest with the doctors I work with they are already offering six figures to start and I haven't even begun the advanced patho class. There is a demand.
I live in a city where its who you know that gets you the job. Start asking those doctors if they can give you any names, or even better yet start milking those phone minutes and call around to offices.
You can do it!!!
