I recently just started applying to nursing programs and I am starting to really freak myself out. My friends just don't understand how competitive the process of getting into the programs is and they keep saying I should get in. I know that they are trying to be supportive but they just don't understand. I have applied to four schools so far and I plan to apply to one more in June. I hope I at least get into to one because if I don't get into at least one I don't know what I am going to do. I really don't want to sit out a semester or two. Anyone going through something similar.
I only applied to one nursing school for this fall, so it's high stakes for me and I'm super nervous. I didn't apply to any other ones cause I need to stay local (I live at home and can't afford to move out) and while there are like...6 other local schools here, they either require all prereqs already be completed (I've got some in progress still) or they're graduate programs which I can't do since I don't have a bachelor's. I hear back from the one I applied to on the 28th. Fingers crossed.
Good luck on getting in. I have to wait until mid June to find out if get in anywhere.
I've been working on pre-reqs for two years now (in my fourth semester). I've only applied to one nursing program in the fall, and believe me, I am terrified. I have a 4.0 GPA and an 87 on the TEAS, yet the program is very competitive.
I saw a Walt Disney quote on this site a few days a go, "Why worry? If you've done the very best you can, worrying won't make it any better", and I am trying to drill it into my brain. I won't hear anything until the end of May.
I'll be submitting my application in May. The deadline is May 31st, for a Fall start date. I'm just wrapping up the final classes I need; my grades should post the first few days of May, then I can submit. I plan to apply to 2 schools, both are community college. I could never afford private school. The program I'm applying for is super-competitive too, and even with a half decent GPA and HESI-A2 scores, there's no guarantee. Yes, I'm nervous because I know they receive a good 2-300 applications every block, for about 30~ places. My plan B is to just re-apply next round if I don't get in this time, and keep on trying!
I'm going to be applying for colleges in July and around June or July, I need to take my teas exam. My GPA is not the best due to transferring my old GPA to my current school, which is definitely not the best idea. As my GPA is low, I'm going to be applying to many community colleges for the RN program in-state and out-state.
Also in the process of applying to Accelerated BSN programs, its so stressful! With not such a competitive GPA as others, I'm so worried I'm not going to get accepted anywhere. O wells! Chins up ladies and gents, we'll get there! ;]

beautiful quote, my boyfriend and mom are very supportive which is great. I have one semester left before I apply. My top choice is Miami Dade college and my second is broward community college. Getting the adn is a lot cheaper than the bsn so that's the route I'm going for. It is very competitive in Miami, an advisor said they get hundreds of applicants each semester. I have my bachelors degree from a university so I'm applying for the generic program and the accelerated. I take the hesi next month and I have to get in 90th percentile since the hesi exam is weighted 60% If you get in or not. The minimum to get in gpa wise is a 2.5 but in reality they only take 3.5 and up. My gpa is strong and I'm just waiting to take the hesi and finish my pre-reqs. I'm not even going to think about what will happen if I don't get in. I have to put out good vibes in the universe, if you doubt yourself and believe you won't get in you set yourself up for failure.
Jen you're SUCH hard worker and, from I have seen, are kicking serious butt. Any program would be lucky to have you!At this point in time I'm only applying to one Accelerated BSN program- application is due September 1 and the program will start January 2018. If I don't get in, there's 2 other accelerated programs that begin in May 2018 I'll be applying to. But fingers crossed I won't have to!
Aww thanks

For the previous cycle, I only applied for 3 local schools, but couldn't get in. It was so competitive in my home town. For Fall 2017 cycle, I had to apply for 11-12 schools in CA to increase my chance. So far, I got 2 rejected, 1 standby list, 1 accepted, and still wait for responses from other schools, especially the local ones. I don't really want to move out, but if no choice, I have to do because I don't want to wait for another year. Waiting for results is killing me.
