  1. It isn't I just needed to vent. I just wanted to get others thoughts as I rambled.
  2. I just realized I left the you out of the title oops!! It was supposed to be "What do you sign with?"
  3. Also I did apply for a L&D position at both hospitals. One told me they weren't hiring any new grads but hired some of my classmates any way after about 3 weeks. The other hospital turned down both of the applications for the delivery room without a interview. After I graduated in may another application was available at the 2nd hospital was available in postpartum which I mostly dealt with as a student (it was same L&D unit). I recently applied to some hospitals that are about 2 hours from home in various areas (one in L&D) this was before i accepted the position but no interview yet.
  4. Do you sign documents not job related with RN like personal documents? I know this maybe a stupid question but I was just wondering!
  5. Let me start off by saying I am a new grad. I REALLY would like to work in L&D. I worked in L&D as student and I absolutely loved!! I kind of accepted a job at a hospital that is less than 10 minutes from my house but I really don't want to work there though. I say kind of because I haven't signed any paper work and I haven't heard from them since saying I could work there. I could have worked at another hospital (its also affiliated with the hospital I accepted a job at) but in a another position but I did not want to work on any of the floors they offered (at the time) and I also held out a while after getting offered the jobs (ortho and 2 med surg; all managed by one manager) because I was waiting to see if I got a job in the nursery (I wanted this job because I would get to work PP and maybe in the future I would've gotten to transfer to L&D) at a neighboring hospital (I did not get the job?). I had the interviews around the same time like 3 days apart which was the week of spring break. I only waited because the manager had said I would know something in about 2-3 weeks but it was a lot longer than that it like 7-8 weeks within about 1 week after I had job offers at the first hospital I was forced to decide so I declined. Also I had talked to the hiring manager maybe 2 times after the initial interview since I had not heard from her in the amount of time she had promised. So should I keep looking for a job in L&D?! Also do you think i have the right to be kind of picky with the job that I chose? Sorry if what I said was confusing I just feel frustrated right now!!?
  6. I had classmates way older. I know one of them was pushing 60, so you definitely can do!!! Good luck!!
  7. I graduated from high school in 2015. Took my prerequisites at a CC and graduated from there May 2017 with an associate's degree; I would've graduated sooner but I was hoping to get in a BSN program which had more prerequisites. I missed the deadline for that year to apply for the BSN program so I decided to apply to like 5 ASN program. I got in to most of them and I went with the closest one from my house. I just graduated in May. I took the nclex may 23 and was issued my license within a week. I will be starting a RN - BSN program in August. ? I guess it took me 4 years to become a nurse.
  8. Is it normal to feel nervous about being a nurse as new grad? I just graduated last week for a ADN program. It kind of feels as though the more I think about not having a job yet the more I feel nervous? which I feel is increasing my anxiety. Anyway is this normal? Did anyone else feel this way before starting work?

  10. Did you get in??
  11. GOOD NEWS!! I made it!!
  12. She said I need to improve my skills and be confident in clinical. Which I thought I was!*shrugs* Every time I have performed the skill (that failed the 1st 2 times) I have done it correctly so I really don't understand why. I am a bit shy but not in clinical.
  13. I think I am going to fail my first semester because my instructor told me that my skills aren't good enough. I have been passed off on all my major skills (4 out of 5) on the first try except one and the instructor is holding it over my head. I was given 3 times to pass off on the skill and I did on the 3rd & last try. Also this skill was the 1st one that we had to get passed off on which was at the beginning of the semester (we are near the end with only a month left). This is stressing me out.
  14. What do you have on your presheet I am trying to prepare myself for next semester early? :)(Hoping and considering that I make it to next semester.)
  15. Its going fine. I'm just still adjusting to nursing school. Big difference from prereqs.
