I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
We are all praying ..............I seems as if 3.5 might not be enough LOL
I still have DEP 2004 (human growth and development) to take but I opted to take that another time I am beat and this might be the last summer I get to enjoy before Nursing school for the next 2 yrs. I am letting brain rest for a bit......I just took Microbiology and Chemistry together this past semester and I managed to pull a 4.0 but it was rough so I deserve a break.

Helen27,
If you are passionate about something, you should GO for it. You don't want to have that "what if" feeling in the back of your head. If nursing is what you want, then do it. I suggest that you volunteer at local hospital to get a feel of the field. Talk to a couple of nurses. LPN is a great start ! You said your GPA is almost a 3.0...you need to increase it. When you take your science and math courses, make sure you get all A's...it makes a big difference in your GPA. MDC's nursing program is very competitive, so your GPA should be high. BCC also has a nursing program, you can look into that too. The best thing to do is to talk to a nursing advisor. I hope things work out for you. Good luck :wink2:.
Hi everyone. I am a second semester generic student at MDC. I have a friend who applied last spring for entrance into the august 08 program. I asked her when she got her letter and she looked for it... Called me and said hers was dated may 28th. So since the deadline was may 1st... It looks like you guys should hopefully be hearing any day now. I was glued to mine for a whole week. I got my acceptance letter a little less than 4 weeks!!! Best of luck to all of you!!!!!
