Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

Published

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

Thanks for your interest!

Nothing but I think for next week we will get an answer.

I even have my MDC email forwarded to my cell phone......

did they told you anything about the cut off gpa for this semester. I am almost sure they already know. I can wait so I can be out of my misery:scrm:

hey everyone:D...i called the school, and i spoke 2 an advisor and she said not until the end of June.. I also spoke to an advisor via email and he said end of June... I hope it's sooner:anbd: but in the email from the advisor he said they received 1,300 applications:eek: and they have to go through them all...so good luck to you all...:rckn:

1,300 applications. Does it really take 2 months to go through 1,300 applications? If they just go through 50 per day, it only takes 26 days. Oh well.

YES I TOTALLY AGREE WTH?? I thought they enter them in the computer ??!! I just can't believe that some schools like NOVA already notified their students and we are still in LIMBO......:roll

The office staff are use to this every semester:behindpc:, If you can read from past forums every body goes crazy:bugeyes: around this time of the year and sincerely they must be sick of all of us calling. I just think that don't realize how difficult it is to be on standby, not been able to plan a Christmas vacation because you cant predict if you will have classes or not as long as we get in the wait will be OK but if I get a denial letter I will be devastated.:bluecry1:

Me toooooo OLOFIN1 but guess what I wont give up....I will try again next year I am gonna be a NURSE DAMN IT !!!!!!!!!! LOL

I just want to know what the cut of GPA is. Maybe I'll call and ask when the information session will take place, then we'll know how soon letters will go out.

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to this site and I'm just happy that I "see" others that are going thru the same neurosis that I am. I'm not alone! I do believe I have developed ulcers because of this.

I know how all of you feel about the waiting. I am a school nurse and I've applied for the transitional program. The not knowing if I should say (at work)yes to coming back in August or not is killing me.

Even though I have heard that getting into the transitional is a bit easier then then the generic, I don't believe it. Anyway, I'll keep praying for all.

Hey L.P.N.toR.N...thanks for the prayers...I also applied for the Transitional RN program..If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA? A friend of mine got accepted last semester with a 3.2 and I have a 3.5 (i hope thats good enough)... Well Good Luck!!

Well most of us have a 3.5 BUT I AM STILL NOT CONFIDENT :sofahider

I mean 1,300 applications is INTIMIDATING what if out of that 800 ppl have 3.5's scareyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Do they have a point system like some other schools have. Like do they give you a point for living in Miami Dade County and so forth.......?
