Any Hotspot Questions On Your Test??

Published

Hi all,

I have been browsing the posts of those of you who have taken the NCLEX and which types of questions that you all received but I have not seen anyone mention whether or not they have had any of the questions that have a picture and ask you to click on it in order to answer the question (also referred to as "hotspot" questions)??

I am just curious if any of you that have passed have actually gotten any of these types of questions?? I was wondering how much time I should commit to working on these types of questions of the next few days since my test is next week. Thanks!!

Probably the 10 or 12 folks from our class who have taken (and passed) NCLEX so far have not had any Hot Spot Q's....

I didn't have any hot spots. I wouldn't bother spending any time on them. Because even if you get one, it won't be more than one or two questions and there is no way of knowing what the hot spot will be about. Just study the content and don't worry about what types of questions you will get.

A good grasp of the material will give you the ability to answer questions correctly no matter how they are presented.

Nope, I didn't have any hot spot questions. I also didn't study these types of questions because, like they said above, you don't really know what they are going to ask.

I had one. It had something to do with the liver, can't remember exact question. Something like "Where would you palpate to assess the liver?" Had to put mouse over where the liver would be.

Nope. 75 questions, no hot spots.

Nope, no hot spots on my test...:)

I had one on my LPN exam. It was "where do you listen for the apical pulse"? You better know this if you want to be a nurse! Jane
