1. CONGRATS to you!! Do you feel like the PNCB practice exams helped in your preparation? Or the exam edge practice exams?
2. After browsing this tread... how ironic is it that I see this article in a newsletter that I subscribe to daily. Apparently utilizing scribes is the new "hot" trend.... http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/14/health/a-busy-doctors-right-hand-ever-ready-to-type.html?hp&_r=0
3. I'm interested in hearing more but I'm a PNP new grad! What part of the U.S. is the job located? I may have some colleagues who are FNP and interested...
4. For anyone who reads this thread and has a similar question here's a great link with information on what to do post-interview: PNP Job Interview - Thank You Letters and Following Up
5. Hi PedsNP2b! If I may ask what part of the country are you in? I've recently just graduated from my PNP program and having completed my degree via distance learning many of my classmates are saying that the market is sadly not the best for them. I am in the S.E. now although I am looking both locally and at some other states for employment opportunities.
6. Hi PedsNP! I would say to send them all a personalized email thanking them for the opportunity to interview, etc... Before leaving an interview I always make sure I get a business card from each person that I interview with, and if the card isn't available I just write the contact info. down. This is a practice that I have used for years as I do know some articles do suggest handwriting and mailing letters. Sending a very professional email has always worked very well for me and I am sure has contributed to my being offered a position over other applicants. Good luck!
7. Hi! I too am in my second year of my PNP-PC program... I have the Core Curriculum book (it's required) and bought the Core Review book to go with it but I really would've saved my money on it had I known more about its contents; has rationales but often times the content is incorrect so I would probably avoid that one imo. The Core Curriculum book I think will be helpful for my review for boards but not very helpful currently on tests in my Peds courses. I have the orange book PNP review book it was recommended to me by a friend I have reviewed it some and I def. like what I see and it has content similar to my textbook only in outline format which is great for me! Hope this helps.
8.

Hello, I am currently in the PNP program at University of South Alabama. I am currently in need of a primary care preceptor for the Fall 2012 semester (begins end of August). The only commitment necessary is that you be willing to precept me and fill out a short 2 page form and in return I promise to shower you and your office with lots of treats and be a great student :-) I live about 30 minutes (West) outside of Atlanta but I am willing to travel to mostly anywhere within the metro Atlanta area. A little about me... I completed my undergrad at Emory University. My background is in level III NICU. If you or anyone that you know may be interested in precepting me please PM me or just respond to this thread. Thanks!
