Any hospitals that accept volunteer nurses?

Published

i've been to the ff. hospitals:

rizal medical center

quirino memorial medical center

east ave medical center

philippine heart center

national kidney institute

among them, only east avenue accepts volunteer nurses but they will start accepting new volunteers next month. are there any other hospitals that accept volunteers ASAP?

Training is training, and is never considered as work experience anywhere. It is considered the same as when you were in school.

And most countries will not accept this or the volunteer programs as work experience as you are not working with your own load of patients, nor are you permitted to do all that the RN would be doing there with their own patients.

Do you guys know any Post Graduate Nurse Training Program aside from QC gen? or any other trainings? Thanks.. We're quite stuck I know..

ospital ng maynila is accepting volunteers. my friend is a volunteer there. try contacting them.

Specializes in EENT, Radiology, Neuroscience.

Theres a public hospital in QC, which is Quezon City General Hospital. Not volunteer training though, but training in preparation for employment. They have a rigid process in selecting applicants and soon to be employees, so do everyhting, apply your ska in hope youll be selected. It is a 6 months no pay training. You need a license, board certs (passing and rating will do) if you dont have the bigger one yet. For new passers, I dont know if they accept that hand written breakdown of rating.

IV training is needed too. QCGH located at Munoz, near Congressional. Look for the Ford automobiles Bldg. very near that establishment. Application is every First thursday of the month. Better check with them first for confirmation. I would advise you to personally go there to inquire.

tips for new passers, get your BLS and IV now, almost all hospitals nowadays require you that in order to at least have a chance for consideration. Competition is tough you know.. Theres another 20+ thousand like yourself who yearns for a spot at a hospital.

Good luck! Be smart! Dont get intimidated by other applicants coming from big universities, or to nurses with board rates higher than you. Remember you passed the exam. That alone says a lot. :heartbeat

I passed the QC Gen hospital entrance exam, its a 30 items exam so basically there is no big room for mistakes.. The orientation of trainees will start on monday!

TO YOO_JIN: Is it really for employment? I'm quite confuse whether to continue with the program, I'm also considering NKTI and Ospital ng Maynila, I have an exam @ OM also on monday and application for NKTI will be this coming friday.

But given the odds and situation we nurses are into right now, there is 75% chance of me passing up the opportunity @ OM and NKTI.

Once again, the volunteer is not considered staff so is not able to do many of the procedures that the RN does and another reason why it does not count as experience in most other countries.

So if one who is in the US,legally, and volunteered as a nurse in the US,legally, like a nurse trainee.. that would still not count as work experience? Ok, but would it still be worth it to go into that?
