Any hospitals that accept volunteer nurses?
So if one who is in the US,legally, and volunteered as a nurse in the US,legally, like a nurse trainee.. that would still not count as work experience? Ok, but would it still be worth it to go into that?

New Mexico Licensure Question
you can consider applying directly for New York licensure if you are decided to work there. it will save you time and money (than going through New Mexico licensure and later endorse to NY). For NY licensure, you will need the credentials verification service (CVS) for new york state. it's a service done by cgfns for foreign graduates who apply for license in new york (either thru exam or endorsement of license in another state). processing time for cvs is usually 4 to 6 months (sometimes, 6 to 10 months) based on the experience of other applicants. you can read more about cvs and ny licensure from the website of cgfns and also of NYSED OP http://www.op.nysed.gov/nursing.htm (look for the verification of education credentials from non-US programs). i hope this helps.
