Just found out Tuesday I am starting Nursing School in January at GCC. I have been going there for 3 years getting my pre req's out of the way and finally starting Nursing School. How do we find out our class schedule?
Never too early to find study groups
I'll be starting Block 1 at MCC in January. I found this website for books:
http://www.us.elsevierhealth.com/Nursing
This is the book publisher's website. They ship for free and you get a 10% discount off list prices if you buy more than 3 books.....I figure every little bit helps.....
I also went over to Apparel Pro todday to check them out. They are the company we will have to buy our uniforms from. The lady there was really nice and she said that they usually go to the campuses to sell supplies.....we get a 20% discount...
Got all registered for classes and it wasn't too painful. I ended up choosing Thunderbird HOspital, even though it's farther it's where one of the teacher's that was recommended to me teaches (thanks Thrashej). I'll have a half a day on Friday and a full day SAtur from 10-4:30, not too bad.
I'd love to meet. It makes more sense to meet closer to GCC b/c that's where most of you are. Just let me know.
I'm still confused about where to get my books. I checked out a couple of websites last night and it seems like some of the books we need aren't even published yet!!! Orientation is on the 11th and I start school on the 13th so it's not like I can wait to buy the books until after orientation. That website Mattsmom gave us might be a good way to do it, no carting all those books around, if it's free delivery it may be the way to go. Plus it's the same discount as the book bundles.

what do you mean you got all registered? Did they give you a schedule too? They didnt give me one i just had to turn the sheet in. I looked up some of the books that i havent purchased yet on that website but the publication year didnt match (does it have to?).
Ok so we all agree that we want to meet up for lunch but we dont know where yet hahaha.
Does anyone here in Glendale know of a good place for lunch? Saturday is good here too, my son has a soccer game in the AM but that shouldnt be a problem its only an hour long...
I have clinicals Saturday, but get out at 4:00. I can either meet Sat evening afterwards or on Sunday. You guys tell me what works best for you cuz you guys are the ones with a kazillion kiddos.:roll So who wants to meet.........Keli, Angie, ItalianRN2B, and me??? is that all??
Way to go with Thunderbird Keli...you won't regret it. I can't believe they told you, LOL
So dinner Saturday? Where do you have clinicals? I think that works for me as well ... I really dont have anything planned Saturday. Sunday my husband is going on a Jeep Trail Run so i couldnt go on saturday unless my mother in law isnt busy and would like to watch my son. Does anyone have food preference? Italian, Mexican, Hamburgers, restaurant or fast food?... and where?!?!
Oh and my name is Mandy LOL italianRN2b is ok too! :chuckle
How Exciting!
i applied for august and got in for january
for me it was only 1 semester...are you ready to apply? ALSO make sure that you keep on top of your own paperwork and dont rely on Kristina white to keep you updated...just a word of advice. I almost didnt get in because she didnt let me know the transcripts never got to her from my old HS. I called and the school send they were sent and assumed all was well. They (GCC) never even called to let me know they werent in yet... that was back in JUNE!!

Are the ISBN numbers listed on your book list? If so you can go to half.com and type in to search by ISBN number. The exact book/edition/author you need should come up with multiple places to buy from. I buy all my books this way. Just make sure it's a reputable seller and the chances are you will get your book!
