Any GCC Students?

Just found out Tuesday I am starting Nursing School in January at GCC. I have been going there for 3 years getting my pre req's out of the way and finally starting Nursing School. How do we find out our class schedule?

and the book list OMG!! When can we buy the books does anyone know...i havnt read all this yet its sort of a SHOCK!!

I got my packet today too!! Wow, I"m a little overwhelmed trying to figure out daycare and stuff for my classes!!! My dh had originally told me that his boss would let him work a Sun-Thurs schedule, and now he's saying he can't!! At least I have a couple of months to figure all this out now. I've heard that half.com has cheap books, but I haven't looked into it yet.

i just went down to the school and bought what they had left from fall that is on our list. There are a few that are new editions that i couldnt get but i already spent 600 bucks.... luckily i had saved my leftover financial aid money from last semester. I have always been a little hesitant about ordering books online at half or ebay... afraid of them not being the right book or not getting it in time. I got 11 of the books on the list so far.... i just told my husband WHAT WAS I THINKING CHOOSING THIS PROFESSION?!?!?! LOL:uhoh21:

Do any of you guys have YAHOO or MSN messenger? Maybe we can chat there too... its hard to tell who is on because sometimes it shows my little green light off even when im on

anyway my name on Yahoo messenger is ITALIANR2B just like here. I have my messages blocked unless your on my list so you would have to add me in order for me to get the message.

That would be great, but I have to set up an account first. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow. Wow!!! $600 for not even all of the books!! I don't qualify for FA, and like I said before my GI bill ran out, so...maybe student loans??? We'll see, I have to check into them.

Where should we meet? If we have Gilbert and Glendale I am not sure where everyone else is maybe we could meet in the middle like phoenix/scottsdale. Just an Idea what do you all think?

I turned in my class choices today. The lady at the window (GCC) was really nice (younger gal) then there was this older bitty that when i asked if they had an idea when the bookstore would get the rest of the books and she was like "GEEZ they arent even ordering them yet you will have to wait until probably January" and the nice girl told her "but they have reading assignments" and bitty said they will have PLENTY of time to complete them....um hello that is like 1-2 weeks before class. I dont know about you all but i have other things going on at the same time. So yesterday i bought what they had two were off the reading list (prior to class one) and the chapters I am happy to share are NOT very long. Not like in some of the other classes like a & P and Patho. At least i didnt think they were all that long.

Where is everyone today?!?!?!

I'm on my way out the door to turn in my choices too. I plan on checking out the bookstore and getting info on FA. I'd love to meet up with you guys sometime, weekends are better for me though, no kids, lol

yes your profile says 6 !!! that isnt a typo is it...lol I only have one to worry about. That is amazing!

So your going to be over on this side of town today?! Have fun in the bookstore the bucks rack up fast. Bookstore is on the SE side of campus and Nursing Dept on the NW side. you should go to the website and print a map first! www.gc.maricopa.edu although im sure you have already done that!! We are Nursing students after all (or soon to be)!!
