Chica, maybe there is hope then. I'll just do my best and if I get a B, it's not the end of the world.

Busy board today! LOL I had ***** last summer for Micro & got a B. Tough class but I thought he was a great teacher. As far as the classes go, I'm going to try to do the nursing 1100 in the spring & CNA the 2nd 8 weeks of summer. If that doesn't work I want to get into ******* class & will do CNA outside somewhere.

Hi everyone, wow a lot of postings since 2 days ago. It would be nice to meet and have a study group, I live in Glendale Heights... It's nice to go through this rough time with people I can vent to or ask questions:))
I need to take Micro in the summer, any suggestions for instructors? I saw someone metioned *****? What's his last name... never heard of him.
Also,,, from what i'm reading (which is very informative), i can take Nursing 1100 even though i'm not admitted in the program?
Hope everyone got home safely last night.... too many accidents d/t the frozen rain, very slippery roads.

I'm also going to try for an evening section. I work 6 days a week during the day (5:45a-3:30p), so the daytime doesn't work for me I don't mind either way which section I get in (1st or 2nd eight week). I don't know much about the teachers, so I don't have a preference yet. I'll do some research :)

You need to be admitted into the program and get the permit to take nursing 1100. I think a study group is a great plan! We had that in my A&P class and it worked great!

***** ****** teaches microbiology and anatomy at COD. He loves teaching and it shows. I looked forward to going to class and I never thought I would say that about micro. All of his tests are multiple choice and he gives you a study guide. It's not an easy class, but if you work hard an A is obtainable. Most of my friends took *****. He is a great teacher, but does have a lot of essay questions which I am not a fan of.
Thanks td,
I'll look for him when I register in the summer for Micro-- A great teacher makes the subject pleasant and the class enjoyable. I'm taking A&P II now and I don't have a study group, it seems like everyone is on their own but I am the type that learns more in a group.

For any later comers to this thread, if you are looking for a good instructor, try using ratemyprofessors dot com. I've found quite a few instructors through that website and the reviews are usually spot on.
Here is some info.
I was talking to a professor about nursing 1100 in the spring. It isnt the whole 8 weeks only really the last 4 weeks and orientation will most likely be April or May. Just in consideration of the mailing letters deadline.
Just some FYI.
Rscod, what you do mean by it's not the whole 8 weeks for spring Nursing 1100?
All - I am new to this forum, I should have read the comment policy better on using initials/names. I will be sure to keep that information in a private message. When sending a private message do I just copy and paste the name of the user i.e. RscodADN10?
