Any adn nurse programs across the country that have little to no waitlist w/o being a

I am at a community college in michigan and want to get my ADN, associated degree in nursing. The two year program has a waitlist of two years. I dont want an academic based program for the fierce competition. I would like to attend a community college some where in the states which will take not more that two years total.(no ness counting pre-reqs) Does this exist, or is nursing waitlists packed everywhere?

quincy college in mass doesnt have a wait list and is 2 years long (pre requs not included0

You will not find a Nursing program which does not look at your academics. ALL Nursing programs are competitive, they have to be, you are dealing with someone's life and well being.

There are no "wait" lists in NC. They take the top performers on academics,(pre req grades), entrance test scores, and anyone else has to apply again the next year.

Either way, you are not going to find such a school that you desire.

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

Lake Region State College: Devil's Lake, ND.

They have dorms on campus and a lot of student life activities. Plus there is little to be distracted by in that town ;) It's super cheap too even out of state,=.

^^

They base entrance on academics, though. Higher GPA's will win out over a 2.0 or 2.5.

you could also look into schools with lottery systems

This one in Columbus has a lot of online components, too. From Mi you could possibly just commute fr clinical days.

No waits at Amarillo College.

?? Schools in NC do have waitlists. Durham tech for example.

Hi,

I've taken all of my pre-reqs at WCCC here in Michigan. I applied to a few schools and am currently on the wait-list at HFCC (there is a 2 to 3 year waitlist...no thanks). I applied and recently got accepted into Mercy of Toledo's nursing program. They have a day or evening/weekend program. No waitlist, goes by grades. I start August 22. PM me if I can help you out :)

i would say that admission into nursing school is very competetive. i'm in sc and the school that i attend discontinued the wait list almost 2years ago. it's so much easier to accept the top students, than to maintain a list of names for 2-5 years. my school now has a point system and you can't apply for admission into the nursing program until you have accrued a certain number of points. once you accrue the number of points, you then apply and hope that you are accepted. :)

if your school has a wait list, then wait. to be honest, i've heard "numerous" stories of people being told that the wait is 3 years, but they received "the call" after waiting 2 semesters, or 1 year!

a lot of student's don't like the idea of waiting, but they never call to have their name removed from the list. they attend other schools or completely fall off of the radar. this is one reason why the list remains so long....it's full of those people's names. it's full of the names of people who decided to do something else besides wait.

no one is going to know that 18 of the 60 people on the list for the following semester aren't attending until they fail to meet deadlines or can't be reached. your school must then call down the list until they can find 18 replacements.

that's also another reason why colleges are no longer keeping lists.

try moraine valley community college in Illinois  if you are willing to relocate for a little
