Anatomy Summer 2006 Club

okay you guys....everyone that is taking anatomy this summer post away here

hehe this is going to be an interesting summer

any sites will be greatly appreciated lol :chair:

Hey everyone,

I'm jealous of all these tests/quizzes etc. that everyone has been posting; in our class we are only having 3 tests and 2 lab practicals all summer and no extra credit!

We were originally supposed to have 4 lecture tests but the prof already fell behind and dropped it (I was hoping for a gen. bio. review test for an easy A, too bad I guess it will get swept in with histology, skeletal and integ.).

I'm taking a 10 week summer course, in case anyone else wants to chat, unfortunately I'm using Seeley 7th ed. instead of Hole's.

Good luck everyone!

Well we took our second practicum on muscles and I've managed to maintain my A average for the class!

I was very worried about this one because it is traditionally the hardest test and I can see why. I'm exhausted and don't want to think about origins, insertions and actions for a long time!

We're half way through and so far, so good. Hope everyone else is making it through okay, too. Cheers!

There are two different Anatomy teachers in this school. Mine uses a brand new book written by McKinley and O'Loughlin. The other teacher must use Hole's. Does anyone else feel like they are living, breathing, eating and dreaming about Anatomy this summer? I need to get back to studying.

YES! But I love it. I have to memorize the muscles of the axial and appendicular skeleton. In two days. I'm so glad I decided to do the internet class. Why bother with lecture - just get straight to learning on my own!

Good luck to my fellow summer A&P folk!:studyowl: :flowersfo

in case you don't have this link for the muscles, i'll post it again for you guys:

http://www.rad.washington.edu/atlas2/ - nicely presented drawings of the muscles of the upper and lower extremities. select a muscle to view a beautiful drawing of it's location, and a listing of it's origin, insertion, action, innervation and arterial supply.

As per your request, I have "un-stuck" the Winter Club, and "stuck" this one.

Be sure to bring over all pertinent websites so they don't get lost, wandering forlorn in the virtual hinterlands. ;)

i'm taking a & p i right now in the summer 06 and i got accepted in the lvn program. they started this new thing where you have to pass a & p i with a 75 to proceed into the program in the fall. i think this course is tough. all i do is study!! most of the stuff in the book is never on the test. so our book will say one thing then he says the answer is something different. it kind of throws me off. my average is a 75 right now. i am very determined to keep going in that career path but i think the teacher is making it hard to weed out people. any suggestions??

I am right there with you, girlfriend.....my prof wants to weed us out, it is obvious. The funny thing is, there are a half dozen or more that have taken this class before. I am sorry but I am only taking this once. It is hard and I spent my Saturday studying all day but I am not going to take it again. This class is required for admission with a C or better. I will get that grade or better but it appears that I will have to eat, breath and dream about Anatomy.

Do you think that the professor is trying to weed students out, or could it be that he is simply enforcing the curriculum? A&P is demanding and a lot of work. Just food for thought.

I think many are shocked when they hit A&P because they haven't had such a time-demanding course before.

Yeah, everyone in my class is has taken A & P I and II. I haven't had either. Everyone says our teacher doesn't explain anything and they are glad they have already had Anatomy and Physiology before this class. I think I am the only one that hasn't had it. Well, I am determined to pass. The way I look at it is that it is only 6 wks so I'll just study my head off. I was just curious if anyone else was in the same position. Thanks for the reply!!;)

I just finished the muscle physiology portion of the course. All I can say is I recommend you set aside extra time for muscle physiology. Unless of course my program had it grouped such that it was more massive than most chapters? I studied probably 15 hours for this chapter alone - and got a 92%. I was miffed.

So far I have an A in A&P. We are half way through the class and I have never studied so much in my life. I can only hope that A&P II is not as hard, but I worry it will be more difficult because of so many systems to learn. I study about 3 hours every night.
