Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.
Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.
Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.
OFF to Bed for me
well i've got the systems down and am pretty good with the directional terms- now it's the regional terms- most of the ones that seem like they would be so simple- well lets just say they're the opposite of what I thought they'd be... ie: mental=chin oh well- I've got my work cut out for me!!!
We have to get the book by Saladin Anatomy & Physiology unity form Fourth Edition they sale it at the school store for $136 used thats if they have it and $175 newWent online looking for it all I could find is the International edition not US edition. Who wants that? Finally I found the book for $75 w/shipping on Ebay, maybe you girls should try looking for your books there.
If you send an e-mail to the school book store they will give you the ISBN if you ask for it, I just told them that I wanted to make sure I got the right one, because this is only the way they will give you the ISBN.
This way when you look for it online you can know if you got the right book.
I know I'm bad, but you have to save money somehow.
Good Luck to all!
Luckily our school gives out the ISBN number on the website- and I saved about $200 on books by going on textbooks.com, amazon.com, and I think I got the last one from abe's books online- all in new or like new condition- my lab manual has someone's name written on the first page but that's the only thing in any of my books! I'd definitely check into it!
If this helps here is the info on my book.

So here I was all stressed out about not being able to get a jump on studying because I can't buy books for two more weeks. Then I remembered that I had purchased some anatomy and physiology study guides a few years ago when I was thinking about taking the CLEP. I found them in my closet in pristine condition. I have Schaum's Outlines Human Anatomy and Physiology and CliffsStudy Solver Anatomy and Physiology. I think with these and my BarCharts Atlas I should be able to at least a little bit of a jump.

But you see that is our point, we can't. In my case there is a required lab manual that is developed and published by the college and can only be purchased in the campus bookstore. The only place to find that lab manual is in a "custom pkg" that the college has book together. The result is that you are forced to buy the brand new edition of the textbook as well as other books and software they have thrown together with it. It's basically a scam designed to make it impossible for students to get their books outside of the campus bookstore.
