Anatomy & Physiology Fall 2008

Published

Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.

Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.

Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.

 OFF to Bed for me

I start on September 2nd.

Craklin Rose thats a great link. I need to get started on the external anatomical parts pronto!! lol. I should probably do that before the chemistry of life. Thanks.

My class starts September 2nd as well. I'm so scared, but I'm glad I have all of you on this board! Thanks for all the amazing sites CracklinRose! :)

Thank you for this thread! All the links are wonderful and I can see that a lot of time and work went into this. Thank you so much!

The LSC North Harris A&P site is listed in the resources of this post but I also found this page there that has even more resources: http://science.nhmccd.edu/biol/ap1.html

This virtual Autopsy page is kind of neat: http://www.le.ac.uk/pathology/teach/va/titlpag1.html

You click on a case number and then click on the little cadaver diagram at the left side of the screen to view information about the different system. After you have looked them over you can make a guess as to the cause of death. I'm 2/2 right now!

I could've sworn I already replied to this thread... but can't find my reply anywhere. Maybe I'm crazy lol. Anywho... count me in for A&P I this Fall! I can't wait!:yeah:I took A&P in high school and LOVED it!:heartbeat I can't buy my book quite yet... but trust me... I will get it as soon as the bookstore gets it in. Until then I will be checking out all these sites! I wish I remembered the site for my high school A&P book... you had to log in using your teacher's name but I bet I could still log in because I just graduated in '07 and I know that teacher still teaches A&P... hmm... maybe I should google my A&P book and see what I find.:specs:

hey my fellow a&p buddies, here are a few more sites...

http://www.anatomy.org/resources/resource_links.htm#academic%20links

http://www.indiana.edu/~anat215/ basic human anatomy offered online. see lecture outline, lab resources for tissues, and online links to other anatomy courses.

http://www.wiley.com/legacy/products/subject/life/anatomy/ practical online guide to everything anatomy and physiology. gives book contents on line. worth viewing.

http://www.west.asu.edu/jbuenke/medicine/educate.html huge isting of medical topics and associated links to individual topic web sites. worth a review.

http://www.histology.wisc.edu/histo/uw/htm/ttoc.htm light microscopy photographs of everything histological in the human body. tissue are labeled and unlabeled for quizzing purposes. if you need to study tissues, check out this web site from the university of wisconsin.

http://www.medicalstudent.com/ a digital library of authoritative medical information for all students of medicine. this is a mind boggling list of schools which have presented medical topics of everything imaginable and made it free for you to study. good luck.
