Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.
Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.
Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.
OFF to Bed for me
The Barcharts atlas says it covers 15 systems, but I can't name them because I can't afford to buy any books yet. http://www.barcharts.com/default.asp?page=chart_details&gid=2&pid=01724
I have been studying from the Get ready for A&P book and website.
I have also been making flashcards for the recommended terms that we should know before class.
Right now I am focusing on the cell, systems and anatomical directional terms.
There is so much already I can't imagine what class is going to be like.
I suppose any head start will help right?

Did you get the list of recommended terms to know before class from your school or instructor or what? If your instructor or school has put that out you're blessed and if it's just something you found, where can I find it!!! I have made about 2 hundred flash cards but don't even know which ones I need to study first! I'm focusing on the systems (what they do and what they're made up of) and the directional and regional terms... anyway- GOOD LUCK!

The instructors at my school post their power points and such in a folder on the schools computer system, so I went in and looked up the instructor I have and copied what topics he had listed for fall term so that I had a reference point of what exactly is going to be covered in the first term.
I know that the Get Ready for A&P can be bought from Amazon.com but you can also access it thru www.anatomyandphysiology.com. If you will be using the Marieb textbook then this will be especially helpful because it is the companion website for the text. The access code comes in a package with the book and you can log on with that or buy access for about 25 bucks I think. (Get Ready for...) is included with this as an e-book and quizzes, games, ect. It is really well worth it IMHO.
Hi all. I feel really slow since I havent looked at single note, book or website. I am a mother of 4 girls and my time is limited to b4 7 AM and after 10PM. I am taking this fall A&P I , Composition, and Intermediate algebra class online and A&P lab and Chemistry online. I will love to be a study group if I have the time. I am trying to make this change with as little impact on my family as possible.
Tatooed Princess, this should get you started.....listed on the first page of this thread....My Prof suggested I start here and learn all of this first. I printed it out and made flashcards. I am now moving on to something else

The cardiovascular and circulatory system are the same. I also count 11 systems (Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Endocrine, Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary and Reproductive.
Hope that helps a bit.
