Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.
Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.
Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.
OFF to Bed for me
my school used the exact same book marieb human anatomy & physiology, i am also taking nursing i, abnormal psych, and a required pe class. i also have to refresh my intermediate emt for my fire department. my 2 year old is also starting early headstart next week as he needs speech therapy because he is over a year delayed even though he has been getting early intervention for the last 3 months. which annoys me but is a whole different thread. on top of all that i am getting married the second weekend in october and then we go to court in november for my fiance' to adopt ryan. so it will be a very very busy semester for me
SMYRNASAHM
Hi I just took A&P 1 in the summer of 2008 but I have to take A&P2 online too which means I need to buy the $300 book too. I live in Memphis, which isn't too far from Smyrna, do you want to see if we can share the book?
My A&P 1 class was full, so in order to get done for acceptance into NS- I have to take it online!I can't find my book anywhere except for the rodp program online bookstore- they want almost 300 dollars. I was hoping I could find it somewhere for less... BOOK: Human A&P author is Fouche 1st edition isbn 0536781206 (bundle w/ lab manual)
anyone run across this book before??
And I'm all for the study group- I am very intimidated by this being an online class, but hard work pays off :)
Does anyone have the A Brief Atlas of the Human Body that comes with the Marieb book? I' trying to figure out what the three plasticy looking things are that are stuck into the heart on page 111.
I believe the 3 cigarette butts are actually supports holding the heart not part of the heart. That is just my guess.
Sandy
Sandy, that's what I figure. I just find it puzzling that they left them visible. I'm sure they could have cut them down or something.
I don't know if this will turn out to be a good idea or not, but I ordered some art supplies from Dick Blick. I ordered Copic markers and Copic alcohol marker pads. I'm hoping to be able to use them with the Marbied study guide to draw my own flashcards.
I found a bag of bones today in the Halloween section of Big Lots...the bag contains all the major parts of bones.....skull,clavicle,scaplula,femur,etc....they are disassembled. I intend to label and color-code them for identification. Hopefully this will help when the Prof throws the bones on the table and wants them identified......I have heard she does this....LOL
hey everyone... well i had my 2nd day of lecture today! i'm starting to think this might not be as bad as i thought it was going to be! it's definately alot of information to take in but i think as long as you stay on top of it you'll be fine! i'm trying to stay ahead as much as possible and it seems to be helping alot, and i can follow along better in lecture! i love my teacher, she really makes anatomy come alive and explains it in a way that we can all understand! also the www.myaandp.com website is really helpful! to those of you who have the "fundamentals of anatomy & physiology" book by martini/nath 8th edition, i suggest you got the study guide by charles m. seiger that goes along with the book! it has been extremely helpful! :bowingpur lots of practice quizzes, tests, review of concepts, essay, fill-in diagrams, ect!
i have my 1st test on nov. 5th, i'm already nervous! i only have 2 weeks! :barf01:
oh you're welcome cracklinrose... hope you found it useful! the only thing is i think that you have to have the code to be able to use it and the code came with my book! hopefully you don't, but it would probably be worth it to buy the code imo! well last night i was reading ch.2 which is chemistry! i've always been challenged by chemistry, when i read it i understand it but then when i go back to it the next day it's like i've lost everything! for some reason it's just not sticking! we haven't gone over it in lecture yet (trying to stay ahead) so hopefully when she goes over it in class it will all come together better! really wish some of you guys would start soon that way we could help each other!!! that myaandp website has really good tutorials on chemistry so i'm about to go over those!

Okay, this is going to sound totally weird. I quit smoking two weeks ago and those things are totally making me want to smoke! It looks like someone stuck a bunch of cigarettes into that stupid heart. (No, I don't actually think they are cigarette, it is just driving me crazy how much they look like cigarettes.)
