Several had mentioned starting a study thread early so we could get prepared for our fall A&P class, so here goes. I have gathered several websites from both here and on my own, so wanted to post them early on so that we wouldn't have to search for them. Please feel free to add to them and also any advice or study tactics that seem to work for you.
Thankyou to Eveyone here at AllNurses who have provided so much information in one spot.

Ok, that's it for tonight....I have several others but hopefully this will keep everyone busy for a day or 2 :chuckle:yeah:I'm sure we all have diferent study habits and will need to find our own way there but I am hoping we can work together as a study team.
Maybe each day or two, someone could provide a study tip or an mneumonics for memorization for tissues or nerves, anything that is helping you learn. Or if you come accross somethin that you can't use, maybe someone else can.
OFF to Bed for me
I start a week from tomorrow and I still don't have my book! I'm getting it tomorrow, but I had to borrow money for it. I just got my financial aid check and there is no way it will clear the bank in time for me to buy the book before class. The way finaid is distributed is really ridiculous.
For everyone taking this class at HFCC I just looked at someone's notes for the class - printouts of Powerpoints by Robert Foter (or similar name) and it looked SUPER easy. Don't go by the book - most teachers will not use every ounce of info in the text or test you on it... so everyone who is freaking out just chill out a little bit you will be fine I am sure. The most important thing is to see what kind of professor you will have (ratemyprofessor.com) an anal professor will ruin even the best students.
Also I recommend Netter to everyone - I have the Atlas and am going to be getting the cards as well very soon. The Atlas is unbelievable, you can look at it and just drink in the anatomy info!!
I took AP 2 over the summer in eight weeks... It was tough, but I pulled an A. I would advise everyone to review models and slides for the practical. DNWalcker.com has powerpoints that have the real pics of the models that may be used. Also study in groups and with a tutor. Read, Read, and do more reading.... Ummm, thats pretty much it. Its lots of fun and hard work, but it'll all pay off. Best of luck to you all.
hey everyone, well i just had my first lecture and lab today! lemme just say that for the 1st day i was overwhelemed with the amount of information that was given! i don't even know where to begin studying! i guess i just have to take it one step at a time! no school tomorrow so i'll definately be trying to devise some type of study plan and get to working on those notecards! anyone else started yet?! if so how did you get the ball rolling with studying?!
Does anyone have the A Brief Atlas of the Human Body that comes with the Marieb book? I' trying to figure out what the three plasticy looking things are that are stuck into the heart on page 111.
Gee Posh, I don't know either... I went and got my atlas to look at what you are referring to and I don't really have a clue.
I looked at the Rapid Review Anatomy reference guide as well and there is no reference to that part of the heart what so ever.
I am at a loss too.

Is anyone taking BSC2085 at Mercy Hospital on Saturdays (beginning the 6th of Sept) with Prof. Sainvil? He emailed me a copy of the syllabus but I am having a hard time matching up the title of the text he is requiring with the ISBN number he sent me...
