My classes run about 2k a semester, but add in books, uniforms, etc and it bumps up a few hundred.
You also have to consider whether or not you have all your pre-req's done already. I took a year before nursing and took all my pre-req's and co-req's so I could concentrate on nursing classes. So I actually will be doing three years.
OP: You will read a wild range of numbers that will not be of much help. Some nursing students are taking additional courses with nursing courses (co-requisites), are out-of-state residents, are international students, and/or are in-state residents who pay more because of the program (i.e. the nursing program has additional fees as oppose to non-nursing programs). As an example my school is set up based upon credit hours, lab fees, and residency only. So what I pay may be different then what others at my school pay based on his/her residency status and course load (I am finished with all but my nursing courses). Thus your best bet is to contact the local colleges to find out how much tuition, fees, and lab costs per semester for a student in your situation in order to get an accurate account. GL.
The Dean of Nursing at my cc said our 2yr program will cost $5,500 for everything including tuition, books, uniforms. I think that's a very low estimation because I am spending about $1300 in books this first semester alone, and they are not counting costs such as school supplies, PDA, voice recorder ect. By MY estimation, it's going to cost me more like $8,000...
