Am I the only one???

I'm a nursing student and i love it too. Of course i'm looking forward to going back to school. But what i am not looking forward to is the exhaustion that i feel while doing school. All that work plus clinicals. It was so much. I already can't wait for summer break!

I feel the exact same way after a week of sleep and catching up on cleaning and cooking I am ready and excited for the next semester and even the semester after that...My next semester is starting in 2 weeks and I have already started reading my books...I guess that means that we are the chosen few...

I love school. I'm looking forward to our next semester and clinicals although I'm not super excited about some of the busy work that comes with it. After Christmas, I started getting antsy and feeling like I'm just wasting time and that if we could just start already we'd be closer to graduation!

However, I my gripe is pretty much opposite of the OPs! Sure, I've seen postings about break going too quickly or that next semester is going to be a huge suck fest. But what gets me are the students who want to know what they should be studying over break! We've had professors send out schedules for next semester after getting requests from students. I get it, we're all Type A superachievers but break is a time to relax and recharge.*

(*I really don't care what anyone does with their break. But if you text me and ask if I've been studying pharmacology, don't be shocked when I say "frick no!" There are "Real Housewives of the Hood" or whatever to catch up on and since it's been widely reported that our pharm professor tests straight from her notes, I'm not spending break time trying to imagine what might be in her notes that I may need to study.)

I totally agree.. I enjoy nursing school but I have to tell you going to nursing school, working, and taking care of 3 kids leaves me exhausted. So I guess I'm just not ready to feel exhausted yet.. I still have another week off and I plan to enjoy every minute of it. :)

I love school & seeing my friends, I also love sleeping in and working making money. What I don't miss is the tests, the sleepless nights and the clinical paperwork &&& waking up so god awful early for clinical ( gotta be there at 0645!!) Other than that it's cool lol

[color=#2f4f4f]i love it so far, but i'm only on day #2. with that being said, i worked my butt off last semester to make it here and i am definitely going to enjoy it! there is nothing i want more and i have enjoyed everything we've began learning the past two days, and of course, there's a lot more where that came from! i am about forehead-deep in handouts and outlines to complete as well as various other things and of course, tests to study for! but, i am loving it!

I also can't wait to go back! I have to wait till the 23rd:crying2: It's too far away!!! I have enjoyed my break though, being with my kids and husband and stuff, but need my school peeps! I'm REALLY going to be said come graduation day:p

Its all subjective. I personally try to see the best in people, even if we disagree. I am not one to judge, I leave that to God. I have encountered many negatives and negative type people in my lifetime that it is just not worth my time or energy to sink down to that level. I rise above it, and will continue to do so. Some people just struggle to find happiness or be thankful for what they are given in life and they don't realize or understand it. For me, it takes more effort and is definitely more draining to be ****** off and worry about things I cannot change. Than it is to smile, be positive, work things out and make a difference. Am I saying that I am perfect? NO, certainly not. I do have my good days and bad days just like everyone else does.

I can't wait to start school. I really wish the months would fly by faster so I can be at that point right now. I will know soon enough. I do know, that I enjoyed my pre-nursing courses, some more than others, but I indeed enjoyed them. Same with the people in my classes.

You said it!!! Not everything, or anything for that matter, is ever going to be perfect. Why are we learning about this when it's not really used in clinical practice?? Well, I don't know, but I'm not going to question it because there must be a reason my nursing school had a 100% first time taker pass rate on the NCLEX last year, so I think I'll do what they tell me!

I understand the occasional complaint, but some people, my goodness! Fortunately for the sake of future patients, about 30% of my class didn't make it through the first semester and are currently rethinking their career choice. :)
