My class started with 36 and I wanna say we have 24 now, although its rumored that 2 will not be returning next semester to pursue other adventures. One decided that he'd rather be a physician if it took this much knowledge to be a nurse (LOL) and the other decided on vet school, I loved her but I don't think she loved me... or people in general. About half of them flunked and the other half didn't make it to the end of the semester because they either couldn't stand the heat, or something came up. At the beginning of the semester I was told to look to my right, and left, and hope that at the end, I was the one still there. I didn't believe them at the time, but I'm starting to.

It all depends on YOU, how do you FEEL? What physical shape are you in? What nursing field are you interested in? I am the youngest in my class, 20, the oldest in my class is 50 something, she's currently a CNA and in excellent shape compared to other people in her age group, heck she's probably in better shape than me! If your up for the physical demands go for it! I'd say most of my class is actually 30+ years old. In my first semester clinical at a nursing home, the oldest CNA, never told me her age, but she had to be in her 50's or 60's worked was the best CNA I worked with. I know I don't have any experience to be able to tell you what nursing is like when your in your 50's, but if you believe you can do it, and you sound like you do, than so do I.

Way to go! I believe perseverance is a very admirable quality. My mantra, just keep swimming swimming swimming! You can do it!

Why not? You can be there when I deliver! The times are changing, I'm sure there is a job out there for you!

Yeah, the credits are bogus, tell any nursing student they aren't a full time college student because they are "only" taking 8 hours, and be prepared for a good laughing in your face.

I have a rolling backpack, however I don't use it much. My books usually stay in my trunk, and I go get them as needed. Whatever works for you. Typically I don't need a book for lecture. Do anyone else's books smell like coffee??

You said it!!! Not everything, or anything for that matter, is ever going to be perfect. Why are we learning about this when it's not really used in clinical practice?? Well, I don't know, but I'm not going to question it because there must be a reason my nursing school had a 100% first time taker pass rate on the NCLEX last year, so I think I'll do what they tell me! I understand the occasional complaint, but some people, my goodness! Fortunately for the sake of future patients, about 30% of my class didn't make it through the first semester and are currently rethinking their career choice. :)

Hello, I am preparing for the same thing. I really don't know how to study for this test either. I applied last semester and was an alternate. I used the study guides made nearly perfect scores on the practice exams and then the test was not even in the same format for some of the sections! The questions on the test were very random for the Anatomy and Physiology portion. The other sections were not as easy as I expected them to be either. Hopefully this test is a little easier. I know the critical thinking score works like this though. Lets say the test is 100 questions, they will throw a small number of "Critical Thinking Questions" in there, lets say 20. These questions are harder than the rest. They give you two scores, how many correct quetions out of 100, and then how many correct questions out of the 20 critical thinking ones.
