  1. I would pick microbiology. But that is based on my personal experience. I found that A&P I and II required a lot more study time than micro. How is A&P going for you this semester? If it's pretty easy for you then I would do A&P in the summer. It seems that those that find A&P easy have a tougher time with micro and vice-versa. Good luck to you!
  2. I only had the math, vocab, and reading. Those three sections were a piece of cake. I studied the evolve study guide for about 4 days before the test. There is no time limit so relax and triple check each answer. You also get to use an onscreen calculator for most the math. Good luck!
  3. Mine are just what I expected :) 1pediatrics 2obstetrics/gynecology 3general surgery
  4. Congrats to everyone that got in so far! How many are left waiting?? Pretty sure I will be the very last here waiting...... Have to wait until the first week in January, 5 more weeks to go.
  5. I have a study friend, we average about 4 days of study(3-6 hours each day) studying for each test. We quiz each other, make mnemonics where needed, and I make flash cards. I also read and answer the questions in the book. We are both getting an A at this point. This is the same strategy I used for A&P I&II as well. I got an A in both. Keep at it! You can do it!
  6. I'm old so I am exempt from the varicella, not sure about TB and TDAP. Already had my MMR, and I have one more shot to finish up the Hep B series. I will ask my school about the DTAP and TB skin test. Thanks!
  7. What titers are required? CPR is a one credit class for those of us that need to have full time credits for financial aid, so that will wait until the semester starts.
  8. I chew gummy bears to relieve test anxiety, I know that works. Not sure about studies on chewing and learning. I do know that pacing helps me when I study.
  9. Not sure how to plan except to plan as if I am getting in. Though that is hard too since some of the classes in the online course catalog are still listed as TBA. And for back up?? I guess classes toward an BSN program and then apply to several colleges in the fall.
  10. We have t be done with our Hep B series before clinicals in mid-march, this was actually a brand new protocol. Our campus was unaware, I actually got a call back in September about my app. They called to inform me that even if I got in I could not be seated because I wouldn't be done with the 7 month series before January, when the program starts. This started a ton of calls back and forth between the campuses since our satellite campus was unaware of this new policy. Luckily it was decided that the series would need to be done before clinicals instead and that gave me just enough time to start the series and be done before clinicals. Actually I will be done a bit early since there is a new 5 month protocol for Hep B.
  11. Anyone else have to wait until January to find out if you got into the Spring session? We literally find out the week before the program starts. :grn:
  12. I'm also a non-licensed vet tech. I started about 20 years ago and over the years have worked in many clinics and ER clinics. I have worked in MI, FL, and here in TN. In GA I worked as a sales rep for a veterinary pharmaceutical company. Like you I love the medical side of the veterinary clinic especially the ER side. I am hoping that working with all the equipment, drugs, and procedures will be an advantage in nursing school. I am in my last semester of pre-reqs and waiting to hear if I get into the Spring program. Good luck to you!
  13. Finishing up my pre reqs with micro and speech. Should be in the nursing program this spring, just waiting on my letter.
  14. I second the study buddy advice. I thought the bones and muscles were about the hardest in A&P I, but once you get your studying routine down for those sections you know how to study for the rest of the course.. I Just kept telling myself that all I had to do was pass this test with a good grade in order to reach my goal of becoming a nurse. I tried very hard not to think any farther ahead than the test I was studying for at the time. You can do this!
