I was wondering has anyone taken A&P1, biochemistry, and microbiology all in one semester. I am looking to do this as well as take a Human Growth and Development class along with Economics for my first semester. Then this coming summer take A&P2. Am I crazy to do this?

That is definitely crazy!!!!!
I think a person could do one science with the Economics and Human Growth and Development and remain sane. I think a person could do two sciences and the other classes and be very stressed out but all three and the other classes at the same time?
Why the big rush to do this all at once?
Maybe you could manage it but it sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. It's not like you can squeak by and get crappy grades...it's for nursing school so GPA is very imprtant. I can't see a person pulling A's and high Bs with a courseload like that.
These are the only classes I have to take in order to get into the program. I only have to take these classes to get into the program nothing more or less (alot of my credits carried over from my first degree)
A&P 1
A&P2
Economics
Human Growth and Development
Microbiology
Bio Chemisty
Economics and Human Growth are both offered online so I plan to take them that way.
I could take probally A&P2 with BioChemistry or Microbiology this summer. And then take AP1 Economics Human Growth and Development and either Bio Chemistry or Micro Biology (no idea what combo would be better) this is my second degree so I want to get started right away. I have already been career less for three years now.

Not only is this crazy...it's complete suicide! Im not sure what your personal situation is...but A&P1 is VERY demanding...I was fortunate to have a MAD SCIENTIST as a professor...she was very demanding and expected us to WORK HARD AND STUDY EVEN HARDER...If I had known then what I know now I took Chem1 with this and failed it because the class was so demanding...THEN THERE IS THE LAB ( a class in itself)
If u have been out of school for a while (like I was) then A&P1 and NO OTHER SCIENCE class is a sure bet..human development is doable with this class
Nursing school is competitive..ur GPA and other factors are considered..these classes that u need to get into the program are the ones that they look at when letting u in..against hundreds of other qualified students (at least that is the way it works here)...So take ur time, do ur best, and APPLY TO THE PROGRAM EARLY once u've finished..to ensure ur spot in..
If u can handle it and have no other commitments..job, work, family..then have at it...AND GOOD LUCK!!!
Micro was very interesting to me and a LOT LESS demanding than A&P1 and 2, but that could have just been the professors styles of teaching...by the time u take A&P2 u should have a handle on A&P so this is probably doable...IT PROBABLY ALL DEPENDS ON THE PROFESSORS

certifiably INSANE!!
You maybe able to take and pass all those classes together but your grades might not be up to par with where they should be totally screwing up your GPA. Most schools look at those prereq grades when selecting students to fill open spots. I'd rather take my time and get the best grade possible than to cram them all in together and risk killing my well earned and worked hard for GPA.
You might want to reconsider your schedule and lighten that course load.
What would you suggest I do? I am hoping to get these classes done with this spring semester and summer. This is only becasue I dont want to take two years to take a few classes and need to be at least part time to keep my loans. Its almost impossable for me not to take two science classes at once.

I would basically call that impossible unless you decide to not sleep for the whole semester. Can't you take some of them during the summer?
I was planning on taking a class or so this summer. Whatever it take to get me on the waiting list by the fall semester since I cant get on the waiting list to start Clinicals until I have finished these classes. The wait list is at least 1/2 year long as of right now. But they dont allow you on it until you have finished all the pre req classes.
What would be my best combo to take this spring and then this summer? Obviosuly I would have to take AP1 in Spring and AP 2 in the summer. Could this be do able...
Spring 08- AP1, Econ (online) Human Growth (online) and Microbiology or BioChemistry. Which ever would be easier for a first semster.
Summer 08
AP2 and which ever class I dont take microbiology or biochemistry
I am going through all of this now because on the 6th I go to sign up for classes.

sounds like an extremely hard schedule!! I took micro and APII together, and it was very time consuming, I also have 3 kids to care for, but it was do able. I guess it will depend on your other circumstances, if you do do it, I guess nursing would be a cake walk hahaha.
Two sciences are do able, three would be really tough, take API and Bio chem was it? then the other non science classes. It typically takes most people two years to get through their pre reqs, some take much longer, its taken me 3 years, I had to go slower due to other oblications.

Good God, don't do that to yourself!
I am taking A&P1 and Biochemistry right now (along with Nursing 110 [which is a Psychology class basically], and another gen. ed. class that my school requires) and am at my wits end. I am barely passing Biochem and am currently not passing A&P so it's down to the wire for me. No matter what, I am never, ever taking two lab sciences at the same time again. I don't care if it takes me a couple years longer to get my degree -- my sanity is worth it to me and I will not put myself in this situation again.
That being said, if you have a strong science background you could probably swing taking TWO of those together, but I would still be careful. I know people now who are doing fine with both A&P1 and Biochem, and others (like myself) who are not doing as well.
Good luck in whatever you choose!
