I was wondering has anyone taken A&P1, biochemistry, and microbiology all in one semester. I am looking to do this as well as take a Human Growth and Development class along with Economics for my first semester. Then this coming summer take A&P2. Am I crazy to do this?
I'm somewhat in your boat. Next semester I plan on taking A&P II, Micro, Human Development, and College Algebra. I really have no choice though because I'm trying to get into nursing school in the fall. I currently have an A in A&P I, it seems to come very easy to me, I study very hard, and I do have to give kudos to my professor, she's great. I've been making A's in the rest of my classes also and I have a 9 month-old son that is getting into something every 5 minutes! LOL, but I get it done, I won't except anything less. But I think taking 3 sciences, plus other classes is too much, and it is better to take A&P I before you take Micro, so if I were you I would take that one in the summer. I would not reccommend taking that type of schedule w ith a heavy work load, plus a family, plus other major comittments. With 2 sciences that is going to require a huge amount of study time everyday. Yet whatever you decide, do your best because you GPA makes or breaks ya! Go get em!

I don't think you're crazy. I took A&P II, Chem (general), and Micro along with 3 other classes in one semester and I pulled A's in all the sciences and 2 A's & a B in the other classes. Sure I had absolutely no life and other people thought what I was doing was crazy. But who cares. I was trying to hurry up and graduate so I could get into nursing school, and I succeeded. If you think you can handle it, I say go for it.
Well, it depends on your work/home life too. You did not specify if you're working or have a family. Needless to say, the science courses are very demanding and time consuming, plus, you have to take a lab along with the course. I wouldn't rush this, because you want to make the best grades possible. It's taken me over 3 years to complete my pre-requisites, because I go part-time. Try not to overwhelm yourself, and you'll do fine. Good luck! :)
i think it all depends on your schedule. if you have a lot of time it will be do-able!! i`m not working this semester so i`m taking micobiology, college algebra, philosophy, nurtrition, human growth & english! and i`m all A`s and 1 B (philosophy!) if you actually work hard and devote time to it...i think it can be done!
This is my first semester back in 9 years. I am taking API + Lab, Human Growth, Nutrition, Sociology, and Lib Arts Math. I've got 5 A's and a B in AP lab.
Next semester I'm doing APII + Lab, Chem + Lab, Micro + Lab. Then I'm done with Pre's and Co's. Pharm in the summer.
It can be done, but you better be ready and willing to make school #1.
No...not really...It will be a very DEMANDING semester but if you think you can handle it I say go for it!!! I took A & P I , BIO 110 , GENERAL CHEMISTRY AND DEV. PSY all in one semester...it was TOUGH!!! I pulled an A in Chemistry, a B in BIO 110 a C in A& P I and a C in Dev. PSY (that's why I took PSY it over this semester and got an A). A & P TO ME...was the HARDEST class I have every taken there is SO MUCH info you have to retain..it is unbelievable!!! I only have to take A & P II spring semester and THAT'S IT!!! ALL pre- reqs done..thank god!!! I started back in 2003...I had to take dev. classes for math (50 -70) and I have also had 2 more kids since then so I have had to put classes off and etc... I have a 11 yr old , 3 yr old and a 6 month old(he was a SURPRISE)ALL BOYS!!!! It is so hard to be a mom and go to school but it will all be worth it when I walk across that stage in 2010!!!:balloons::)
Hi all,
This is my very first comment on the website. I am taking A&P I and II, and Cell biology, next semester.....all sciences. Anatomy involves a lab and Cell biology involves a workshop. I am trying to get into an accelerated program that starts in the fall. I know it will be a little crazy but I have no choice. This is a second career for me so I haven't taken sciences classes in awhile......so I wish you a good outcome ' Picturestoburn"
Go for it!!!

Maybe take A&P I, BioChem, Economics, Growth & Dev in the spring.
I tried taking a bunch of science classes together & my counselor strongly suggested that I get some A&P behind me before starting Micro.
Then you could take A&P II and Micro over the summer.
I am currently taking A&P I, Bio Chem, Growth & Development and a Concepts of PE class & making A's in all classes BUT.... it has been an extremely difficult & time consuming schedule. I easily spend anywhere from 10-40 hours every WEEK (no joke) on homework, studying, lab, and keeping up with everything.
