allnurses or allSTUDENTnurses?

Published

Is it my imagination, or has allnurses become predominantly a forum for students? I dunno, it seems like I have to wade thru tons of threads about nursing schools or nursing instructors, or new grads, in order to find a thread about nurses who already working. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE and feel for students, it's just that the site is being overwhelmed with them. Maybe it''s because they are sooooo stressed out now so they need to vent more?

I realize I'll get flamed for this, but I have noticed this trend.

Seasoned nurses are also a lot more retrospect in what they post...there's so much I'd like others take on...but won't post for fear it will haunt me later. They can and will find it - you can bet your bottom dollar on that one.

My take is that if "it" is not of my invention/responsibility/ownership, I don't really get myself too bent if it isn't perfect. I enjoy what I like, and leave what I don't mostly (I don't always resemble my remark, LOL).

Pretty much I see that those who try to advertise, or troll, or get free homework are told what's what by members eventually anyway. Students probably would benefit if more experienced posters visited the student section and dropped a line or two in response to something answerable. I know many do as a sort of obligatory thing, and I think that is a wonderful side of the Allnurses membership.

As far as the getting buried in too many threads thing goes, IDK, I can click a mouse pretty fast in and out. I don't have much trouble sizing up a thread. And FYI, I just go to my page, and see where I've posted under statistics so I don't have to remember what I was interested in following. I click the link on my posting on a particular thread, and get right to where I posted within the thread and can read forward from there. No "favorites" notifications or bothersome stuff cluttering my email that way. :snowflake:

Agree with caroladybelle on thread titles!! "help. ." and "what do I do now??" will be skipped over by people who may have valuable advice. There still are a fair number of dinosaur computers and dial-up users still out there! :typing

The best thing about being registered is seeing a little of the first sentence when you hover over the Forum Title.
