Just got the call from my recruiter! I've been accepted! I am so excited.
My recruiter was one of 3 nationwide who had all of his applicants accepted.
Initially, I was told that I would find out my COT date, NTP location, and assignment when I was notified of the results. However, my recruiter just informed me that the results were released but all the other information should be released next week.
Good luck to everyone! Can't wait to hear who has made it.
SeekirRN,
Would you mind letting me in on how they are getting orders for your husband together. Are they giving him an assignment along with your assignment? Are you headed to Elmendorf without him? Did you still get choice of base with him being active duty or are they saying wherever they can get you both is where you will need to go? I would love to hear about how that process is going for you as my husband is active duty as well. We are at Tinker.
Thank you in advance for any info!

Mccauley01,
I will definitely keep you updated. We are in a unique situation. My husband was actually forced to cross-train due to overmanning in his old career field. He is retraining right now and finishes up in 2 weeks. He has not gotten a RIP yet even though his new job is not located at our current base. We are unsure of how to specifically apply for joint spouse (since I am not in "the system" yet) and I do not have hard copy orders. I will be working it out with my recruiter and our MPF over the next few weeks. I have been told that since I will be an officer that I get priority for base assignment. We both put on our dream sheets the five bases that we can get stationed at together so we have our fingers crossed. Also, all of this was annotated on my package so we are hoping that my husbands orders were withheld until they decided where I would go (he is the only one in his school house without orders which is very unusual and possibly due to this reason).
On a side note, I have not found out where I will be going. My husband and I are just hoping for Elmendorf (both our #1 choices). I should have more details for you next week when I find out my assignment location.
For your situation, once you get your orders all you two need to do is go to your MPF and complete the joint spouse paperwork. As long as his job is available at your assigned base he will most likely just get orders cut there. I do not know if they would alter your assignment location if his job is not located at that base, I would ask your recruiter. Keep me posted, I am very interested how it will work out for you two.
I got in too! But no information other than "Congratulations, Jessica! .You have been selected to become a nurse in the United States Air Force"... which is still awesome to hear! I think I've played back the message my recruiter left me about 4 times already!
Wait until the first time you call someone and have to use rank...it's pretty sweet. I called the unit the other day and identified myself on the phone as "Captain Hector." I liked it, lol.
The question as to why didn't you do fingerprints already (adam, maybe?), it's because not everyone that applied got in. It takes extra time, money, etc. to fingerprint someone, mail them to the security forces unit doing the background checks, etc. How ****** would you be if your fingerprints got tossed on accident because they were getting rid of a bunch of them that didn't get accepted? Or they got misplaced among the hundreds of sets that may or may not be accepted? It seems ridiculous, but is actually more cost effective and (oddly enough) more efficient.
Congratulations to everyone! If you get turned down, don't give up...find out what the problem was, address it, and reapply...if it was easy, everyone'd do it!

What is more fun is being stationed at a Navy base and calling around introducing yourself as Capt X. You get a lot better response when people think you are an O-6....
The recruiter security clearance that everyone does always seems to get lost or not put in the right computer system, so keep up with all your security clearance documents and don't be suprised if you have to do it all over once you get to your permanent duty station. The good news is that secret security clearances, which most of us will get, are good for 10yrs.

I am from Austin Texas and I got accepted! I can't wait to find out where. I put Elmendorf and Travis as my first choices.
