at what age did you start studying nursing?

from what i have seen, a lot of us here are parents or in their 30s. so i was quite curious.

for me, i'm 17 gong 18. i'm only 9 months into my nursing course. in singapore, almost majority of the nurses start studying at 17 or 18 years old.

Specializes in Primary Care, FNP, AGACNP, Palliative Care.

I finished my 1st bachelors at 21, and I am starting Nursing school at 22 and will be finished at 23.

I graduated 2 yrs ago and I'll be 54 in 3 wks.

I was 17. I bit young compared to my classmates-- most are 18 or 19. :)

Well, I'm 26 now and just getting started...hope it's not too late!

Nursing? I started the pre-reqs at 17 (when I graduated high school). I start my program in a few days (whoo hooooo!!!!! :cheers:) and I just turned 21. I sat around for a year taking some under water basket weaving classes if you know what I mean... but it sure isn't a race. I would have just turned 23 when I finish with my BSN.

But... I didn't always want to be a nurse! I started off wanting to be a paramedic, so I took my EMT a few months after I turned 16.

In reference to a few posts before me: I don't think it could ever be too late to start doing something you love! :redpinkhe

Starting my nursing classes this March at 46 yo. Spent years doing other stuff, now is my time.

started prereqs at 21-will hopefully finish with my entry level masters of nursing by 25

I started pre-reqs at 31 and have two semesters of NS left. Yay!

I am in my first semester of NS. I was a stay at home mom for YEARS and now I am finishing what I started at 18. I am 34 with 4 kiddos.

I started my pre-reqs when I was in school for my 1st bachelor's degree (I took some of the pre-reqs even before I knew I was going into nursing because they were required for my 1st major).

I am 23 now and in my 1st semester of nursing school.

I started pre-reqs at about 21. I'll be finished my ADN program at 24. But probably I'll return to school after this and keep going for many years! :specs:
