at what age did you start studying nursing?

from what i have seen, a lot of us here are parents or in their 30s. so i was quite curious.

for me, i'm 17 gong 18. i'm only 9 months into my nursing course. in singapore, almost majority of the nurses start studying at 17 or 18 years old.

I am starting nursing school at 22, and will finish at 24.

started nursing school at 17 and graduated with a bsn at 21...I also had a baby during nursing school. so I'm a young mama and nurse!!!! yey!

I started my prerequisites at 18.

But in my heart, when I was 9 years old , taking care of my grandmother ( God Bless her heart) , I knew I wanted to be somebody's miracle. Now I just turned 21, two more semester to go and I couldn't take God enough for this wonderful experience.

I wouldn't change nursing school for nothing. It is a honor and a privilidge to one day not too far, called myself a "nurse"..

I was 17 when I started my ADN. Too young, IMO. I wish I had done the BSN. I was not ready for the 'real world' when I graduated at 19.

i started right out of highschool. i volunteered in the hospital and knew what classes to take before i graduated. in college i focus in my nursing studies, but took my time to get into school because i was working. I also became a certified nursing assistant before i got accepted into nursing school just to make sure I wanted to be a nurse. if nursing is for you, it doesnt matter how old you start, you will love it no matter what age you are.

I started pre-reqs at 18. I will start the actual clinical/nursing part of the program (BSN) when I'm 20. Can't wait!

That's awesome! And encouraging! I'm 50, just finished all my prereq's and starting the nursing program.

I will be 23 when i start my program, but then again I served in the marine core and by that time have 1.5 years of university studies behind me. I feel so old, maybe all the young women will make me feel young again :)

I worked on my pre-reqs on and off since I was 18 and got into a program when I was 24.
