Hi everyone, I've seen some good posts related to A & P. I thought I was doing pretty well but I has my first test last week. I'm worried, very worried. I don't think I did well and no one i have talked to thinks they did. It looks like a lot of people have withdrawn. This is the first class the professor has taught and he is killing us and we are basically hid class to learn on. Anyone have any miracles? I need more then just my flash cards.

is this your lab portion or your lecture portion? quizlet.com saved my life this semester all A's. i took ap1, microbio and nutrition. i get bored really easy with flashcards. i like to interact and quizlet is genius. You can test yourself on your own notes. Also if the lab portion is giving you trouble just google what ever topic your on and your many quizzes with come up. repetition is everything! good luck
Thanks, I tried some. Maybe I will try again. I was just worried about the details and accuracy of the info there. Did you make your own sets?
yes i always make my own set, off my notes from class that my professor emphasize on. AP1 is a rough class! It smacked me right in the face lol

Having a good teacher in A&P is important but the learning is essentially all on you. A lot of people can't make the transition to the kind of studying necessary to succeed in the class. Make sure to go over the material learned in lab daily (there is a lot to remember in the way of bones, arteries/vessels, heart, brain, blood, urinary unit, list goes on and on): make sure youvre able to teach back the info you learn as well, that's how you can be certain you've soaked in the info

Do you have the code that came with your book to get to the study material online? I used MasteringA&P | Pearson (and just used the code that came with my textbook) in A&P1 this semester and it was SO helpful. Just took my final yesterday but last I checked my average was 103!
My professor didn't really "teach" much, a lot of the time she just presented the information to us and I think expected us to teach it to ourselves. Along with that website I watched a lot of lectures on YouTube. I highly recommend looking up "AnatomyGMC" on YouTube.
Of course go over your notes or PowerPoints several times.

Same for me. I just finished my online A&P I class and the online material that comes with the book is invaluable Anatomy & Physiology | McGraw-Hill Connect is the book for my class. I did a bit of youtube browsing for the muscle unit but other than that reading the book and doing the online material earned me an A. If your book has online material make sure you take advantage of it.
Sadly no, I dont. I bought the ebook because it saved me $200. I'm not sure if the hard copy version does. I will look at anatomyGMC. Thanks!
If there is online material associated with your book you should still be able to purchase an access code. I like having the physical textbook myself so I spent the extra ?$40?? it was for the textbook for my class. I still have access to the ebook version with my purchase and the access code for the online material. I know a number of people in my class didn't get the textbook and they still have the access code for the online material.
It's possible there isn't online material associated with the book for your class. In that case you'll just have to find another source to help you review the material.

Hi! My A/P instructor was extremely hard but she was awesome!!! Everything we learned, we had to be able to "apply" it. All of our test questions were set up as application questions and that was the hardest part. Anyway, I had an awesome study group!! We all used the online tools with the text books but my favorite was Youtube!! There are some amazing videos out there! Just put in the topic that your working on in class and you'll see a bunch of different ones. Some are better than others and some may just teach in a different way and when your watching, you just think "wow! I get it now!!". I used these through A/P I and II and also Chemistry!
I hope this helps and Good LUCK!! :-)
I GOT A B! I know that isn't amazing but the average was a 71.5% so I will take it. I am kicking myself cuz there was an easy one I know and for some reason I chose the wrong answer. Maybe psyched myself out. I got some guesses right though so I guess I still did ok. Definitely a learning lesson though! Thank you for the support and tips!

My first grade in a & p was a D. It shook me but made me realize how much time I need to invest to do well. You can Google the publisher for your text to see if there is online supplemental material. It was worth the $$ for me. I earned As in both A&P 1 & 2
