Pharmacology CEU/CME recommendations

Hello there,I was thinking of purchasing pharmacology courses online to earn CEU/CMEs. I was wondering if any of you advanced practice nurses/ advanced practice nursing students recommend a good course online. I was thinking of purchasing from APEA or Barkley's ...I have done both their review courses last year for my AANP certification which I thought were excellent, however, I have not purchased their pharm online courses. Any recommendations? which one is better? Are there other ones out there that you would recommend? Please let me know. I need to earn about 30 hours to apply for an out of state license. Your input is much appreciated. Thanks~Kate

One of the best deals in CEs is to buy a membership in AANP ($125 for a practicing NP, less for students). After you pay for your membership, all of their CEs are free (not just pharm, either). You would not have a problem finding enough pharmacology CEs on the AANP website to meet your 30-hour requirement. I am always surprised at how expensive pharm CEs are from some of the big CE providers.

I think I does now. AANP or ANCC?

I have looked at audio digest several times but never met anyone who actually used it. I was worried it wouldn't be worth the expense. Tell me more? Why do you prefer it to the other sources?

I just used Audio Digest for 150 hours of CME and re-certified my Peds CNS certification via ANCC with this method.

I typically travel 1000 miles/week in my job so I'm in my car A LOT. I just download the Audio Digest app and then download the CME lectures and away I go.

Several NPs in my practice use it as well. It is completely recognized by both ANCC and AANP. It is expensive but...this year I got the my subscription for $2000, got a $1000 Apple giftcard and then got the rest paid for by my practice as CME. So....for me, its well worth it.

I'm going to be changing job duties in Jan and will be in the hospital much more. However, I still will use Audio Digest - in the mornings on the treadmill, at lunch, during the driving I have to do which will be about 300 miles/week.

And...I've had problems with the Platinum app on my iphone so I called them, changed back to the regular subscription and Customer Service is always right on the ball.

I gave up going to conferences about two years ago because I can read from a PPP and the networking was non-existent with how jam-packed these conferences are nowadays.

Maybe here you'll find something interesting for you: Family nurse practitioner CME conferences in 2

I found some free ones on...

Up To Date (UTD) counts if it is YOUR account. My employer has a license for UTD so providers have access, but I have yet to find a way to get CEUs like I did when I had my own personal UTD acct.

There are pharm CEUs if it is drug therapy. You may want to check with your credentialing body and BON to see if it qualifies, too. I have had no issues in the past with ANCC or MiBON
