I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.

I hope everyone's classes are going ok. I finally start mine in the morning...2 hour delay. East coast receive some snow and we were out of classes. Hate to make these days up but I am ready to get started

Well im taking my pre reqs now to get into the nursing program through cuny. I have 5 classes to go. I have two options and im trying to think real hard about what to do. for the spring semester i have three classes general bio, math, and child psy. now the option is i can take a & p 1 and another math class in the summer and then apply to get into the nursing program for fall 2011, or take a&p1 and math in the fall and apply to get into the program for spring 2012. I dont want to rush i know that summer sessions are intense. I'm trying to make sure that i get all A's in my classes so i need to figure out what to do.

What type of math do you need to take? Pierce College in Puyallup has a Millitary Program online courses that are open for 10 weeks, you can start any time and work at your own pace. They have Stats and Business Calc. You don't have to be in the millitary to take them but you have to pay cash. That way you could sign up for math over spring break and have a week to focus on starting the class, work at your own pace for the rest of the term, have a week or so to focus on just that class until summer term starts... Also, if you do all the homework you are allowed to repeat your lowest test score which will make getting an A more feasable with a hectic schedule. Good luck.

Got 24 inches of snow today classes start next week.

I have applied and done all the steps for my school.. they take 110 students every fall. I won't know til April or so whether I am accepted... They use the points system... I am debating taking the TEAS again to get a little better score on it... ugh idk... I am sooooo stressed out! My Spring classes were supposed to start tomorrow but due to the "wonderful" (sarcasm) snow we have been dealing with they have postponed starting back until Tuesday next week. I am taking APII, Mythology for my humanities requirement, Human Growth and Developement, and a Medical Spanish. I know that once school starts my mind will be preoccupied with that and maybe April won't seem so far away! :uhoh3:

hello

i turned in my application packet earlier this week. the deadline is jan. 31st, so i should know sometime towards the end of feb. it is a point based system using gpa and psb scores. is anyone else is applying at collin county in mckinney, tx?

good luck to everyone!

Good luck!

My wait is half over!!!

When do you find out again?

Late March to mid April. You?

I am ready for May!!! I completed my application today :yeah:. Talked with a counselor and she said that it depends on when the nursing department gets through all of the applications and makes a decision. She said orientation has been as early as April and as late as June. Keeping my fingers crossed.

And I was feeling a bit noisy while I was in her office. She had the information in ABC order with information like TEAS scores and GPA on the database. And I took a look and most of the people's TEAS scores around mine were between 50-70. That made me feel good. And then it's like everyone in my Anatomy and Physiology Class is applying. I am really praying that I get in!

The official wait begins now......

I WAS a spring 2011 hopeful and was accepted only to find out that nothing at my current college would transfer. So, instead of wasting this past 1.5 years, I decided to stay with my college. I just turned in my application for the fall of 2011. The first group will be notified in March and the second group will be notified in June.

Just got back into the grind again on Wednesday. We started two days late because of snow. We don't have to make up the days but that means that the pressure is already on because the teachers are trying to catch up. I'm taking micro, A&P 2, med terminology, and an easy "filler" class. I'm already swamped. Hope, hope, hope I can pull out A's or at least b's and that it will be enough to get me in. I'm really scared about micro. My school only has one instructor who teaches micro and "rate my professor" doesn't inspire confidence...
