I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.
Thanks you guys. I was really in a tough spot. But I kept praying and praying. And my mom finally broke down and said that she will watch her for the first month but I have to find a good daycare. And my child's father is going to pay for it. One prayer answered. Then I waited for the plumber today and it wasn't even a busted pipes. The line from the hot water heater rusted out and he fix it in like an hour. Second prayer answered. I am so happy right now. Classes started tomorrow and I will be there with a big smile and a "thank you Jesus" in my heart. Thanks for the scripture!!! I really appreciate you guys.
Well im taking my pre reqs now to get into the nursing program through cuny. I have 5 classes to go. I have two options and im trying to think real hard about what to do. for the spring semester i have three classes general bio, math, and child psy. now the option is i can take a & p 1 and another math class in the summer and then apply to get into the nursing program for fall 2011, or take a&p1 and math in the fall and apply to get into the program for spring 2012. I dont want to rush i know that summer sessions are intense. I'm trying to make sure that i get all A's in my classes so i need to figure out what to do.
Summer and even more so Winter sessions are really intense.
I took Anatomy in the summer, quiz everyday, test almost every week.
I ended up with an A - but I earned it. I took doseage calc in the winter -
my family goes takes at least one Snowboarding trip a year, so I missed one classs
got really lost, and ended up with a C - the Class itself was changed the semester after,
and I moved and changes schools. so I do need to take it over at my new school, but it's still
on my transcripts.
This taught me a lesson - DO NOT GET BEHIND, I'll remember this for Nursing School !
Saw a counselor yesterday, and I'm all fiinshed with pre-reqs, everything will transfer to my New School -
So I can APPLY now! then wait months!

Hello everyone,
My app. period opened Jan 3rd. I'm applying at Harbor College in CA-the Southbay/LA area.
possible 1 or 2 others closeby. Each CC near me has at least 1 class that is college specifec.
(oooooh frustration!) I don't like the idea of limiting myself to applying to only 1 school.
When I was filling out my app, I have classes from a previous degree (X-Ray) at another school,
and realized need to have a counselor "sign-off" that all the classes from other schools to make
sure they are the same and will qualify.
That degree was from 1982 - So I needed to take new sciences - but the good part is that I got
all A's then.
I think I am excited worried, & anxious - Soome days just plain scared. And not the same emotion
everyday.
Even though the app goes in now, no results for MONTHS!
We use the TEAS V, so I plan to study for that, take Drug Calc and Intro - the last 2 so my family can get
used to a busier schcedule for me, and for me to get to know the instructors a bit.
Anyone else applying to LAHC? ELCamino?
