Hi all. I am a California new grad RN and am currently in the process of endorsement to Texas. I have almost two months of SNF experience under my belt now, but am looking to go into acute care, with a particular interest in critical care. Does anyone have any tips on which areas/cities/hospitals are ADN new grad friendly in Texas? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Just wanted to update everyone. My license was posted on the BRN website on July 4th and I received my license card in the mail on the 10th. Now time to find a job!

Same here. This is really frustrating. I scheduled my test two weeks after graduation so that I could go job searching right away. My classmates are all getting their licenses already, even though I took mine way earlier. I'm happy for them, but I feel like I'm being left in the dust. It's taking around 1 -4 days for theirs to show up. Meanwhile, I've been waiting for over 2 weeks now. I can't even reach the BRN to ask what is wrong. A friend is trying to get me into a local SNF but I need my physical license card.

Hello! I am in a similar situation. I took the NCLEX-RN on the 13th in California. My school's website read that transcripts had been sent, the PVT gives me the good pop-up, but my license hasn't shown up on the BRN's website yet. Several of my classmates who had taken the NCLEX after me already have their license numbers. I think I will go tomorrow to my school and send another set of transcripts. I'm worried that maybe my school left out the needed form or did not fill it out completely or something. Please keep us updated on your situation.

LOL. The Director of our nursing program has his ears gauged. My classmate does too and he just wore plain, semi-discreet ones throughout our clinical rotations and no one had any issues with it. And regarding taste, to each his/her own, I guess. What some people/cultures view as hideous, other people/cultures would find it absolutely beautiful. It doesn't matter much to me how you look on the outside, as long you're a kind, compassionate nurse :)

Hello! Why yes, I got accepted there and also at my first choice school, Contra Costa College, which is about 10 minutes away from me. So, I had to decline going to Hartnell (which is more than 2 hours from home), but it sounds like a great program. I am now happily in my second semester at CCC and I love it here.

When we eat lunch, please try to face away from my plate when you talk. The flecks of your saliva flying onto my food kinda takes away my appetite. K, thanks.
