  1. Hi all! Has anyone ever attended the MSN-FNP Online program at Samuel Merritt University? How was your experience like obtaining clinicals (Im living in LA) and working during the program? I just got accepted and am going to be working per-diem while in the program.
  2. Hi all, Does anyone have any insight into the MSN-FNP program at San Francisco State University? I recently got accepted into their program, but could not find much information about it online. I know SF State has a GREAT bachelor's degree program for nurses, just wanted to hear some input on their nurse practitioner program for clinical sites, preceptors, board pass rates etc. Thanks!
  3. Just curious.. does anyones application say in review? My status has not changed yet.
  4. Awesome! When did you apply for the program? I applied mid January. I don’t believe my program requires an interview.
  5. I applied for the February 1st deadline as well. The status of my application says "your application has been successfully submitted". Just waiting for an update! Good luck everyone!
  6. Thank you, Juan. I wish the NP scope of practice would allow more versatility between specialties as PA’s do. I’m leaning more for the AGACNP program given where my interests are, but there are not many acute care programs where I’m located. What do you like/dislike about working in acute care?
  7. I'm currently applying for both AGACNP and FNP programs, but honestly can't decide between the two! I can honestly see myself practicing in both inpatient and outpatient patient populations, and understand there are both pros and cons to both settings. For any APRN's out there, what do you like/dislike about your current position? I'm interested in working in Trauma, Plastics, Ortho, or Aesthetics. ? Which program would be most suitable for me?
  8. That's great to hear! You have great experience outside of nursing and if I'm not wrong I believe the AGPCNP does not require any bedside experience. Best of luck to you! :)
  9. Hi all! I wanted to create a forum for those applying/alumni for any of the Nurse Practitioner degrees at UCSF. I'm applying for the AGACNP program next year (Fall 2021). Just wanted to get some insight into the program, what everyone's stats are applying, experience, etc. I have almost two years of bedside experience (Cardiac-Telemetry & Trauma) and about a 3.7 GPA for undergrad. Whoever attended the program, what advice do you have for prospective students? Any insight would be helpful! ?
  10. Accepted another residency position as well, out of state. Good luck to everyones applications!
  11. Received the email regarding December positions. Recruiter said that if we haven't received a rejection letter from her, then we are still in the running for the December cohort. However, out of state applicants may not be considered unless we have an active Washington license.
  12. Yea competition for a spot is steep, applying for programs and for new grad positions! But it also really depends on the geographic location you apply for, specialty, and the demand for nurses at that hospital. I wish they had more openings for this cohort. Not too sure how I feel on waiting till next year. At this point, not sure if I should really consider other options outside Seattle area..
  13. Have any of you guys received emails for second interviews?
  14. No RN experience either. Still waiting to take NCLEX prior to start date. As for updates, I keep checking my email every hour lol! Swedish also offers a fellowship program for those with one year experience as well as those looking to switch specialties.
  15. That's great news! I thought I was already off the running since it passed almost two weeks from my online interview :') Yes did they ever say how many positions were open?
