Active duty navy fy 2016

Hey guys/gals I'm just wondering if their is anyone applying for this upcoming fy 2016 for direct commission into the navy. I guess I should have mentioned that I was referring to the nurse corps.

I did not get selected. I hope its different for both of u

So sorry to hear that. I still haven't heard anything. Wondering if I should call my recruiter today. When did you find out if you don't mind me asking??

I heard from my recruiter today and was advised that the professional board said "yes" to my package and now it is being reviewed by the specialty leader. He said that all boards are moving extremely slow and to hold tight, but based on this information he told me to remain "cautiously optimistic".

Any word for you?

J.jones. I am so sorry to read that. I know you must have worked so hard on your kit. We are both the same age and it's tough when it feels like "crunch" time.

HM3RNBSN... you said you have two small children and a husband to relocate. I, too, have 2 children: 13 and 11 and I am a newlywed (my children's father passed away). I got out in 2002, how about you ? My last duty station was NHJAX.

Congrats on your "yes". Hope everything works out for you. I still have not heard anything form my recruiter. Thinking I may need to call her today. My girls are 5 and almost 3. I also got out in 2002. My last station was the USS Abraham Lincoln out of Everett WA. Keep me posted on what ya hear. BTW, what are you credentialed for?

Hi again. Thank you so much for your wishes. I do hope to hear a more definitive answer soon. My recruiter did reassure me it is taking a LONG time to get any answers on other boards as well. I am credentialed for NICU. How about you?

How much time were you in the Navy? I finished nursing school in 2001 (ADN) and went back to school for my BSN in 2011.

As a result of not getting into the Navy My recruiter sent my package to the army. As a result they would like me to pursue a career path in nurse anesthesia. As of right now I am working on joining the army.

Yep! They can certainly help you get into AMEDD in Texas. Great program. Wish the very best !!!! Is there an age cut off ?

I was active duty for 5 years. ADN in 2010 and BSN this past September. Worked ICU as corpsman and credentialed for critical care. With reassurance that all boards are going slow, hope still alive that I may get selected still.

Talked with my recruiter today and was told I got professionally recommended by the board but as an alternate spot. Will most likely get commissioned in October!!!!
