  1. Hey everyone, I am trying to sort through all the different scholarship programs that the VA offers. I'm hoping to apply to CRNA schools in Cali and use my Post 9/11 GI Bill. Unfortunately CSUF is the only school that will be fully covered by it and I intended on applying to other schools such as Loma Linda University and USC as well. Will any of the VA scholarships help offset the remaining balance that my GI Bill won't cover? I understand that the VA has a program strictly for CRNA's but its not feasible for me due to family issues and the location. Any info on any and all programs is much appreciated! My resources are limited as I am not currently a VA employee.
  2. Hey j.jones I'm getting stationed in San Diego and I'll be in critical care.
  3. Just swore in and got my orders!
  4. Has any of the alternates like myself hear any news as to when they would be commissioning or when you'd be going to ODS?
  5. Nna402, The only thing that my recruiter requested of me was and updated resume. The recruiter who got me through the whole process moved from her position and I was transferred to another recruiter as a point of contact until I commission.
  6. Navywifern, I had noticed that you mentioned that you were waiting to get in contact with a detailer. Does that mean you've already sworn in and everything?
  7. I hope everything works out for the best j.jones4174. It would be awesome to meet you and navywifern at ODS in the prospective future.
  8. Thanks vinstafa for the input. I've been in constant contact with my recruiter and vice versa. He has constantly been asking me if I am still interested in being commissioned.
  9. I was told that I was already selected and would be rolled into this upcoming fiscal year. The navy only had 7 slots for critical care last fiscal year, and for those who were alternates would be rolled into this new year.
  10. Well I'm hoping for the best for you! I'm currently working on my CCRN, it's just taking quite a bit of time haha.
  11. Nice to meet you too j.jones4174. I had applied for the last fy and was selected as an alternate and was told that I would be automatically rolled over into this coming fy. I was credentialed for critical care. If you don't mind me asking what are you being credentialed for?
  12. Hey guys/gals I'm just wondering if their is anyone applying for this upcoming fy 2016 for direct commission into the navy. I guess I should have mentioned that I was referring to the nurse corps.
  13. I'm in the same boat as you navywifern, no pun intended haha...as far as I was informed by my recruiter I should commission in October. I was credentialed for critical care.
  14. NavywifeRN, have you heard anything regarding when you'd be possibly commissioning?
  15. Hopefully everything works out for both you and I navywifeRN! :)
