Accepted FSCJ Summer 2010 Students

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hey everybody!

I just wanted to start a separate thread regarding our acceptance into the FSCJ (a.k.a. FCCJ) Summer 2010 "RN" program. I know we've all been posting to the "hopefuls" page but now that we aren't "hopefuls" anymore, and we're more like "stressfuls"... I thought I'd start a new page... JOIN ME! :)

I guess it is technically called something else other than "RN program" but... here we go anyway.

I'm still a bit confused as to whether, during orientation, I should be more focused on getting a hospital close to my house or a teacher that will be great during my first term.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I've always made the teacher my first priority but I'm curious as to whether or not, those of you who have been there, think that there is a big enough difference in teachers that we would be wise to drive for miles to get to a specific one.

The Florida Specialty place told me when I called we are supposed to place our order online to be delivered to the school and we will get our polos then. They don't want students stopping by and asked for me to place the order online- apparently a change from previous terms.

I was wondering when I'd get them since I just ordered it from them and they had no shipping cost or whatever.

Also, I just went to the allheart website and ordered a stethoscope and a bpcuff

I didnt buy the lLittman III the paper said, but I bought the Littmann Stethoscopes Classic II.

I decided to go cheap and bought the standard bp cuff

Total was 95 dollars. 69 just for the stethoscope

i am applying for nights/weekends for fall term. can anyone that got in to nights/weekends tell me what your points where? i know it changes each semester depending on who you are up against but i wanted to see if 218.44 was even close. hopefully i can get an a in micro and make it 222.44.

Hi everyone,

I'm still a "hopeful" lol, but I was just wondering if any of you guys got credits with a CLEP exam, and if so, how many points do they give you for it?

I got the Littmann Lightweight II SE Stethoscope and the basic cuff both from Allheart.com... found an online coupon code (for $10off) and spent $76.42 including engraving on the head of the stethoscope and embossing on the cuff (which in retrospect, the bfcuff embossing probably wasn't necessary).

Cool. At least I know somebody who bought the same bpcuff because I was wondering if the standard one would do.

As for the question about nights and weekends, Im not in nights and weekends, but Im pretty sure 218 should be able to give you like a 85% chance of getting it.

I had to take ENC1101. I got 6 Cr from the CLEP in 1979. The school said they would give you the credit, but a "C" when calculating your points. I took the class and got an "A". DUH! :uhoh3:

more like 100%. I got 217 and I am in EVE/WE (4th term[in 2 wks]) and there are plenty of folks with point scores that were below mine.

hehe I didnt wanna give it a 100% chance because I dont know if something crazy might happen.

About the test we take the first day.... All I've been really going over is the calculations and stuff. What else is going to be on the test?

One test is purely math. If you have been working on the problems, you should be fine. I finished that one in about 7 minutes. The other is med terminology.

Good luck!

What are the benefits of the N/W program accept that anyone in would have weekdays free?

I really like the idea that we'll be the same group (24 of us) throughout the entire program.
