Hey everybody!
I just wanted to start a separate thread regarding our acceptance into the FSCJ (a.k.a. FCCJ) Summer 2010 "RN" program. I know we've all been posting to the "hopefuls" page but now that we aren't "hopefuls" anymore, and we're more like "stressfuls"... I thought I'd start a new page... JOIN ME! :)
I guess it is technically called something else other than "RN program" but... here we go anyway.
I'm still a bit confused as to whether, during orientation, I should be more focused on getting a hospital close to my house or a teacher that will be great during my first term.
Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I've always made the teacher my first priority but I'm curious as to whether or not, those of you who have been there, think that there is a big enough difference in teachers that we would be wise to drive for miles to get to a specific one.
Hey everyone! Sorry I've been absent so long. I'm still finishing up my last 5 classes and I've been crazy busy.Does anyone know anything about this "Mandatory Degree Audit Session"? It seems stupid to say "If you are in sections 1,2,3,and 4 you must attend 9-10am" but then on the same paper say sections 1 and 2 attend 11-12. What is this for?
I think the sections 1 & 2 that attend 11-12 are probably the bridge students? I'm pretty sure.
Where are we supposed to go for the degree audit? I thought I wrote it down somewhere but I can't seem to find it.
Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are to attend Monday, May 10th from 9-10am
Sections 5,6,7, and 8 are to attend Monday, May 10th from 10-11am
Then it says if you are in sections 1 and 2 you must attend the degree audit scheduled for Monday, May 10th from 11am-noon.
Google "bandage scissors, flat tip, 6 inch" and you will see the type they want us to have. Meridys has the kit with pen light, pen and scissors called "pocket pal" for about $12.
We already have the penlight in our skills kit.
Meridy's has 5 and a half inch bandage scissors and 5 1/2 inch hemostats. They call the hemostats "Kelly Forceps"
bandage scissors and hemostats are different.
Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 are to attend Monday, May 10th from 9-10amSections 5,6,7, and 8 are to attend Monday, May 10th from 10-11am
Then it says if you are in sections 1 and 2 you must attend the degree audit scheduled for Monday, May 10th from 11am-noon.
Do you remember where we are supposed to meet for this? I didn't see it on the sheet they gave us with the dates and times.
Is the Florida Specialty place we order stuff from an actual place?I was wondering if I could go there to see what they have and stuff.
It is a Marketing place in Mandarin where we can pick up our polos. The contact info is in your packet. I would call for directions and to make sure they will be there.

I believe we need to bring a print out of the degree audit ( in artemus) or a copy of your transcript. They are going over each of our classes to ensure we aren't missing something. They said if we are missing a class, it can be taken during the program. I would show up at 0900 if I were in 1-4. Last term term there were 12 groups. This may be an oops from then. You can email ****** ***** to find out more.
Welcome back!
